The concept of resilience has plenty of meanings and uses in different fields. This research focuses on the economic dimension of resilience which is used to refer to territorial capability to withstand recession and recover afterwards (Martin, 2012). This research contributes to methodological, contextual and theoretical issues regarding resilience. Examining resilience at the local level was neglected in previous studies. It contributes to a better understanding of resilience's factors, by not only focusing on pre-recession economic factors but also considering the social characteristics. The recession in 2008 caused an economic downturn and an increase in the number of unemployed people across Europe, including Slovenia, on which this study focuses. This small heterogeneous country, which was severely affected by the recession, has not been used as a case study to ABSTRACT the concept of resilience is used to refer to a territory's capability to withstand recession and recover afterwards. this paper explores what types of localities were most resilient to the 2008 economic recession due to their socioeconomic structure. Resilience was defined on the basis of a business cycle as the recovery to pre-recession value and is measured with the change in gross value added per employee by municipality in Slovenia (lau 2), and the change in the registered unemployment rate. descriptive statistics were used to determine the most resilient Slovenian municipalities' socioeconomic structure before the recession. it was found out that specialization, export and transport infrastructure had the greatest influence on local resilience, while economic development and social structure partly influenced it. this paper adds to the discussion of the vagueness of the concept of resilience by clarifying its definition and measurement. Findings about socioeconomic structure's influence on resilience are important for academics as well as practitioners who contribute to municipality's ability to avoid or mitigate a future recession.
The use of computers with outstanding performance has become a real necessity in order to achieve greater efficiency and sustainability for the accomplishment of various tasks. Therefore, with the development of information technology and increasing dynamism in the business environment, it is expected that these computers will be more intensively deployed. In this paper, research was conducted in Danube region countriesUkraine. The aim of the research was to determine what criteria are most significant for the introduction of high-performance computing and the real situation in each of the countries. In addition, the aim was to establish the infrastructure needed to implement such a system. In order to determine the partial significance of each criterion and thus the possibility of implementing high-performance computing, a multi-criteria model in a fuzzy environment was applied. The weights of criteria and their rankings were performed using the Fuzzy PIvot Pairwise RElative Criteria Importance Assessment-fuzzy PIPRECIA method. The results indicate different values depend on decision-makers (DMs) in the countries. Spearman's and Pearson's correlation coefficients were calculated to verify the results obtained.
The economic crisis the world has faced since 2007 has had devastating effects on many regions to various degrees. How regions respond to economic shock depends on regional economic structure and performance, administrative capacity, resources, human capital, social capital, and other factors, and is perceived as resilience: the ability of a regional economy to withstand, absorb, or overcome an external economic stress. Because one of the future strategic goals for the Alpine Space Programme area is fostering its resilience, we studied the performance of Alpine regions in the pre- and post-crisis period in order to assess the effects of the economic crisis and to provide basic directions on how to make the Alps more resilient in the future. The results have revealed differences among three selected groups of regions as well as some country-specific characteristics of the regional response that can generally be seen in the weaker performance of some Italian and Slovenian regions.

ABSTRACT: The 2009 global economic crisis also affected the economic development of Slovenia's statistical regions. Its impact can be measured in terms of the intensity of stress, and post-shock development can be measured in terms of the intensity of recovery. The study of regional economic resilience belongs to the concept of evolutionary economic geography and is based on an analysis of selected indicators that define the socioeconomic composition of the regions. In terms of shock impact and intensity of recovery, the regions are divided into four types with ascribed socioeconomic characteristics.
