Esta pesquisa é uma interface de um estudo que relaciona corpo, gênero, musculação e saúde. Busca entender como a musculação é utilizada para alcançar um corpo padrão e as implicâncias desta conduta. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de campo, que utilizou questionários em praticantes de musculação. Como resultado, percebemos que os indivíduos buscam emagrecimento e hipertrofia, e às vezes são imprudentes para alcança-los, existindo a necessidade de reflexão para manter a segurança e os benefícios da musculação.
A obesidade é caracterizada como um distúrbio do estado nutricional traduzido por um aumento do tecido adiposo e seu reflexo é o excesso de gordura resultante do balanço positivo de energia na relação ingestão/gasto calórico. Este artigo objetiva revisar na literatura científica as informações mais pertinentes sobre as possíveis complicações que levam ao desenvolvimento da obesidade na população de baixa renda, criando uma analogia com a cidade de Belém-PA. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica em livros, base de dados eletrônicos (Lilacs, Scielo, google acadêmico), sites de órgãos públicos (Sociedade Brasileira de Cardiologia, Ministério da Saúde) e Teses que abordassem o tema de estudo. O aumento da obesidade nas populações mais pobres tem sido alvo de questionamentos e reflexões, pois sempre se associa obesidade à abundância de alimentos, e pobreza à escassez de recursos. O aparente paradoxo entre obesidade e pobreza não encontra consenso com a realidade social brasileira, quando pesquisas evidenciam um aumento notável na incidência de sobrepeso e obesidade em populações socioeconômicas mais pobres. Logo, a presença da obesidade em pessoas com baixa renda ser mais frequente, pode ser explicada pela falta de orientação alimentar adequada, atividade física reduzida e pelo consumo de alimentos muito calóricos, como os industrializados contendo muita gordura, açúcar e condimentos. Neste contexto, a interdisciplinaridade tem papel fundamental para melhorar a qualidade de vida, com estímulo para uma alimentação adequada e saudável interligando com prática de exercício físico regularmente.
