The article discusses Heiner Müller's play Description of image as an example of his late playwriting. By analyzing the various movements of the text, we seek to understand its qualification, given by Müller himself in his autobiography, as an autodrama, a term that would refer, according to the hypothesis of the article, to a comparison with the Brechtian genre of the learning play (Lehrstück).

Abstract
This article proposes a discussion of Bertolt Brecht' s play The decision (Die Massnahme), through an analysis of the form of the learning play (Lehrstück), as well as its polemical reception. It discusses the concept of 're-functionalization' as a political and artistic strategy which is inherent to that kind of performance, and then interprets excerpts of the play in order to examine the concept of teaching proposed by it.
