Statistics is one of the subjects which is considered difficult by students. The lecturers should not only explain and give exercises to students but also need to listen to what the students feel and think as well as trying to find the solutions they have in statistics class. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of cyber counseling services in improving students skills in statistics and to increase psychological well being. Thirty college students who were attending statistics class and got low scores were involved in this study. Treatment in the form of cyber counseling service was given for four months with a frequency of three hours per day by a lecturer. Students were given an opportunity to share their difficulties and together with their lecturer attempted to find the solution. After the treatment, the monitoring of performance acquisition was done. T test analysis was applied to compare the acquisition performance before and after the assignment was administered. The results show that there was significant difference in the students statistics performance. They improved statistics performance significantly after they received cyber counseling service. These findings are very useful in pursuing appropriate statistical teaching methods for students in college.
This study aimed to determine the differences in counseling satisfaction between counselees who get counseling services in accordance with the characteristics of his personality and get appropriate counseling style and those who do not. The hypothesis proposed in this study was that there was the influence of counselee personality characteristics, counseling style that was in accordance with the satisfaction of counseling.Two hundred and fifty-three men and women who have lived in Semarang for at least 1 year, aged between 18 and 55 years and came from various professions participated in this research. The recruitment of participants was voluntary to participants who were students whereas for non-student participants, there is assignment from the working institutions. The experimental research method was applied by grouping the subjects in the experimental and control groups randomly. A counseling style that matches the characteristics of the participants' personality was given in the experimental group, whereas in the control group it was not. Further comparison of the experimental and control groups was conducted to prove the differences in counseling satisfaction of both groups. Two instruments used in this study were: (1) the Indonesian version of the NEO Personality Inventory-Revised (NEO-PI-R) developed by Costa & McCrae (2) Client Satisfaction Questionnaire (CSQ-8). It was found that in general all participants were satisfied with the counseling service received. T-test analysis was found that there was no difference in counseling satisfaction between experimental and control groups
Perguruan tinggi bukan hanya tempat mahasiswa memperoleh pengetahuan akademik namun juga tempat pembentukan karakter yang cerdas, inovatif, tangguh dan resilien . Salah satu cara pembentukan karakter mahasiswa yang cerdas, inovatif, tangguh dan resilien, melalui pengolahan berbagai masalah yang dialaminya dalam bidang akademik maupun non akademik. Unit Sahabat Psikologi (sabpsi) adalah sebuah unit yang memberi layanan bimbingan dan konseling kepada mahasiswa S1 dan S2 Fakultas Psikologi UNIKA Soegijapranata. Masalah yang dialami mahasiswa semakin bervariasi jenis dan intensitasnya, bukan hanya masalah akademik namun juga masalah yang mengarah pada psikopatologis klinis. Tujuan dari aktivitas pengabdian masyarakat ini untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan bimbingan dan konseling (konselor) sabpsi agar dapat melayani mahasiswa secara maksimal. Pelatihan ini diberikan selama 4 minggu meliputi pelatihan (1) kepribadian yang terapeutik; (2)psikopatologis klinis (3) psikoedukasi, dan konseling online; (4) konseling kelompok. Pelaksanaan pelatihan dengan frekuensi 1 minggu 1 topik dengan durasi 120 menit secara daring menggunakan platform google meet. Setiap sesi pelatihan diikuti tugas rumah yang didiskusikan pada pertemuan berikutnya. Berdasar pembandingan pretes dan postes diketahui bahwa setelah mengikuti pelatihan, peserta (1)lebih mampu mengarahkan dirinya agar memiliki kepribadian yang terapeutik; (2)lebih memahami psikopatologis klinis; (3) mampu membuat program layanan psikoedukasi dan melaksanakan konseling online; (4)mampu memfasilitasi konseling kelompok.
Students must adapt to campus life, including the academic pressure, peer pressure, and poor physical and mental condition due to various academic tasks. All of these issues have the potential to make college students having low state of psychological well-being. Self-regulation method as the novelty of this study was used to support holistic health counseling to improve the psychological well-being of college students. The purpose of this study was to design a holistic health counseling model which was based on self-regulation to help college students improve their psychological well-being. Formative evaluation techniques were carried out to evaluate the counseling model.Two experts and two practitioners participated in evaluating the counseling model. The revised counseling model was ready to test through an experiment. Futhermore, it could be used in wider tertiary education setting.
University is not only a place where students get knowledge academically but also non-academically. It must show responsibility to give students the opportunity to have a good life. For this reason, university must help students to be aware of their self, their purpose in life and passion. It must help students develop their potential so they can live happily (well being especially psychological well being). The life satisfaction and happiness (psychological well being) can be fulfilled if the individual is in good health. The World Health Organization defines health as being physically, mentally and socially healthy. Health counseling can help individualsoptimize their potential. Continuous efforts to maintain body fitness, manage emotion and thinking ability for giving positive interpretation in life experinces and harmony social interaction and mutual support to others make individuals feel satisfied in life and happy. The purpose of this activity is to provide health counseling services to increase students' psychological well being. Thirty students from various faculties at UnikaSoegijapranata were involved in this activity. By attending three health counseling sessions with the theme of physical, mental, and social health there was an increase in psychological well being.
