Thus, we intended to test this work and get the best mathematical model to estimate leaf area of mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Haden according to their dimensions Allometric. We used a greengrocer located in São Domingos property in the municipality of Alegre, southern Espírito Santo, which was collected 80 sheets of 20 hoses in October 2013. The regressions were determined considering the actual leaf area as the dependent variable and the length (L), width (W) and the product of the linear dimensions (L x W) of each sheet as independent variables. Based on these results, we conclude that the polynomial equation y= 4.7677+ 0.6934x -0.0001x 2 was the best mathematical model to estimate the leaf area of the hose, with R² of 0.97. Models using the product L x W are best suited to estimate the leaf area of the hose, since the highest correlation.
The objective of this work was to test and obtain the best mathematical model for boldo (Plectranthus ornatus) leaf area estimative according to its allometric dimensions. A boldo culture situated at the propriety São Domingos in the municipality of Alegre -ES was used, where 80 leaves with distinct physiologic age were collected from 12 shrubs in October 2013. The regressions were determined considering the real leaf area (RLA) as dependent variable and the length (L), width (W) and the product (L x W) of each leaf as independent variables. Based on the obtained results, it was concluded that the exponential equation = 22033e 0,1523x was the best mathematical model to estimate the boldo leaf area, with R² of 0.62. The models which used only the leaves width showed to be more appropriate to estimate boldo's leaves area, once they presented higher correlation.
Conflict Analysis of Land Use and Land Cover in the Permanent PreservationAreas of Ifes -Alegre Campus, Espírito Santo State, Brazil ABSTRACTThis study aimed to analyze the conflict of land use and land cover in Permanent Preservation Areas (PPA) of the 'Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Espírito Santo' -Ifes, Alegre Campus, in light of the current Brazilian Forest Code. The springs, watercourses, slopes and hill tops of the PPA were defined and investigated. The slopes and hill tops were obtained by the global digital elevation model GEDM-ASTER. Land use and land cover were achieved by photo-interpretation of orbital image sensor Geoeye 1 (spatial resolution of 0.50 m), totaling 36 thematic classes. The results showed that the PPAs occupy 34.33% of the total Ifes area, with an extension of 114.32 ha. The hilltops and watercourses occupy the largest areas, corresponding to 16.94% and 14.03%, respectively. The watercourses are the most affected areas, and the main classes responsible for conflicts are natural pastures (20.41 ha) and non-paved roads (1.18 ha).
In this study the goal was to make an assessment and comparison of the yield, quality and water consumed by the Conilon coffee plants under irrigated and dryland types of cultivation, from seedlings raised in different containers and under varying shading levels. The experiment which extended from December 2007 to April 2012 was performed at the IFES, Alegre-ES Campus and involved the study of a total of four crops. The findings showed that the irrigated plants had 162% higher yield on average than did the rainfed plants. For the irrigated plants, the yield indices achieved were 4.5 kg of coffee of the planted / benefited area; 1.9 kg of coconut / beneficiated coffee and 5.6 balms of 80 L sc-¹; whereas, for the rainfed plants, the values recorded were 8.2 kg of coffee from the benefited field; 3.1 kg of coconut / beneficiated coffee and 12 balloons of 80 L sc-¹. The Conilon coffee grains harvested from the irrigated plants were superior in quality to those from the rainfed plants. For the irrigated plants, the water consumed on average was 7.9 m 3 per plant, while for the rainfall-dependent crop, it was 4.95 m 3. For the irrigated and rainfed plants the relations between the water consumption / kg of the beneficiated coffee was 8.8 m 3 and 30.3 m 3 , respectively. The type of container and levels of shading exerted no influence on the Conilon coffee with respect to productivity, yield and quality.
