RESUMOO período gestacional é marcado, fisiologicamente, por vários mecanismos de adaptação. Dessa forma, o organismo materno sofre modificações com a finalidade de gerar um bom desenvolvimento fetal. Em vista disso, são vistas muitas mudanças em vários sistemas, a exemplo do imunológico, respiratório e hematológico. A gestante passa a apresentar uma menor resposta imunológica a doenças infecciosas, ocasionando maior risco de contágio e complicações. As alterações maternas hormonais, anatômicas e fisiológicas proporcionam ao feto um desenvolvimento adequado até o seu nascimento. No entanto, se houver algum desequilíbrio de algum desses sistemas, poderão ter consequências maternas e fetais. Com isso, sabe-se que gestantes adquirem um estado pró-coagulante fisiológico ao engravidar. Desse modo, este estudo foi desenvolvido com o objetivo de investigar a relação da infecção por COVID-19 com complicações no sistema hematológico. Foram utilizados 30 artigos para o desenvolvimento deste, sendo excluídos aqueles que não entraram nos critérios de inclusão. Como resultado, observa-se a existência de estudos que mostram a relação do COVID-19 com complicações hemostáticas e tromboembólicas, mas que há necessidade de mais investigação sobre o tema. Por isso, é necessária a realização de mais pesquisas científicas que evidenciem o maior risco de complicações hematológicas devido a infecção pelo SARS-CoV-2.
