Este artigo, de teor ensaístico, a partir de análise de possíveis configurações do turismo, tendo por base a Realidade Virtual [RV], busca compreender se a relação humana com as interfaces tecnológicas da RV no Turismo é percebida como entretenimento, ou se há uma mudança paradigmática nesse contexto. Parte-se do pressuposto que mudanças no tecido social e econômico provocam transmutações no fazer turismo (Schwab, 2016; Molina, 2003; Rejowski & Yasoshima, 2002). Se, no cerne de estudos turísticos, encontram-se características de movimento/deslocamento, tempo de permanência e prazer, o advento da Internet e os avanços tecnológicos que abrem campo para a Realidade Virtual podem estar [re]configurando o fazer turístico, visto proporem também novas formas de deslocamento, de permanência e de prazer, a partir de uso de artefato tecnológico. Assim, o que à primeira vista por ser entendido como formas de entretenimento, pode, na verdade, estar se configurando em novas formas de se fazer turismo e em uma mudança de paradigma.
