Polycrystalline sample of (Na 0?5 Bi 0?5 )TiO 3 was prepared using a high temperature solid-state reaction synthesis at 1070uC and subsequent sintering at 1100uC in oxygen atmosphere. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis of (Na 0?5 Bi 0?5 )TiO 3 powder indicated the formation of a single phase rhombohedral structure. Dielectric study revealed the diffuse phase transition at 340uC. The ac conductivity data were found to obey power law and showed negative temperature coefficient of resistance character. Complex electric modulus analysis indicated non-Debye type dielectric relaxation in the system. The ac conductivity data were used to evaluate the density of states at Fermi level, minimum hopping length and activation energy of the compound. The correlated barrier hopping model was found to successfully explain the mechanism of charge transport in (Na 0?5 Bi 0?5 )TiO 3 .
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
