O hematoma epidural (HE) em criança apresenta um potencial risco de vida. A causa mais comum é queda acidental seguida de acidente de trânsito. A fratura occipital pode ser associada a essa condição. Hidrocefalia e escore na ECG, na admissão, são fatores determinantes para o prognóstico. O tratamento, a priori, é cirúrgico. Contudo, casos selecionados podem cursar com tratamento conservador. O diagnóstico precoce e o tratamento adequado têm apresentado excelente resultado. O hematoma epidural da fossa posterior (HEFP) em crianças apresenta bom prognóstico quando diagnosticado precocemente e tratado adequadamente. O paciente aqui relatado evoluiu bem e sem déficits neurológicos após tratamento cirúrgico.
