In order to reverse this trend, it can be argued that there is in the field an attempt to reground our studies of organizational practices in terms of phenomena that are actually done. This concern brings considerable epistemological issues that were not still discussed sufficiently. Assuming the importance of this practice turn and the relevance of Theodore Schatzki´s contributions to deal with these issues, this paper contributes to the understanding of practices in organizations discussing what practices are, how they are organized, what material arrangements are and what would the organizations be in this approach

ABSTRACT This paper forms part of a recently opened debate in consumer research O INTERPRETATIVISMONas ciências sociais, ao se fazer uma revisão da discussão sobre paradigmas, inevitavelmente se chegará à identificação de duas posições epistemológicas opostas (SANTOS, 2002).
Classes populares. The Grounded Theory as Methodological Approach: reports of a field experience Abstract A s there are few articles that address issues relating to the history, types and main characteristics of grounded theory in Brazil, this paper aims to further the discussion of this methodological approach as a way of doing research. More specifi cally, the paper describes a fi eld experience, and in particular the history of a researcher involved with the challenge of putting grounded theory into practice. The work is divided into three distinct parts. First we present grounded theory broadly, introducing some of its fundamental principles. Secondly the fi eld work that was done is described-in the manner of grounded theory -so as to investigate how the Brazilian consumers from the more popular classes live their experiences of consumers of electronic products. In the third and fi nal section we present some refl ections on the practical requirements for the "operationalization" of research committed to the "spirit" of grounded theory, as well as the doubts, dilemmas, diffi culties and anxieties experienced throughout the process research told by those who faced them.
Purpose: recently, the strategy as practice approach has sought to overcome the micro/macro dichotomy existing in its literature, as well as to better integrate the dimensions of praxis, practice and practitioner. To fill this gap, the aim of the paper is to discuss potential methods to guide empirical studies of strategy as practice (SAP). Method: the paper proposes a method based on an extensive literature review. Phenomenology, grounded theory, ethnography, and narratives are discussed, and their components are presented in the context of strategy as practice studies. Results: the presented method articulates four approaches. Phenomenology is used to enhance the understanding of strategist experiences. Grounded theory is considered a method to develop theories about the studied phenomenon. Ethnography is used to contextualize the daily practices of strategists. Narratives are the path to access the stories of the strategists. Conclusion: the proposed method may be useful to overcome micro/macro dichotomy existing in strategy as practice literature and to integrate praxis, practice and practitioner dimensions.
