Using N-Substituted-2-amino-4,6-dimethoxypyrimidines in the Synthesis of Aliphatic Guanidines. -2-Aminopyrimidines are easily prepared from aliphatic amines or imidazole and chloropyrimidine derivative (II). They undergo acid-mediated cleavage to give guanidine derivatives. The Fmoc group of (XII) is unaffected by the cleavage process, whereas Cbz or Piv are removed. -(SHAW, J.
