A alface é a hortaliça folhosa mais difundida atualmente e cultivada de maneira intensiva em quase todos os países, e no Brasil, com a expansão das hortas comunitárias e escolares se faz necessário um estudo sobre esta hortaliça, e para tal, um sistema de produção mais limpo se faz necessário. A utilização de adubos orgânicos é adotada por grande parte dos alfacicultores e, o esterco bovino presente nas propriedades rurais, pode ser uma opção de adubação quando compostado por minhocas, gerando o húmus ou vermicomposto. No sentido de dar respostas aos produtores da alface 'Regina' mais consumida pela população, este trabalho preocupouse em utilizar um dos solos representativos da região de Pelotas e verificar quais melhores respostas para a aplicação do húmus de minhoca à base de esterco bovino curtido, como adubação orgânica. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação no Complexo de Estufas da Faculdade de Agronomia Eliseu Maciel, Campus da Universidade Federal de Pelotas, Capão do Leão/RS. O húmus utilizado foi produzido por minhocas de cativeiro-Eisenia foetida, tendo como base esterco bovino curtido. Foi utilizado um Planossolo Eutrófico solódico, para produção em vaso das mudas. Tanto o solo quanto as mudas foram caracterizados quimicamente. A calagem do solo e a adubação (com base no teor de nitrogênio necessário para alface) que fizeram parte dos tratamentos se deram tomando-se como base a análise química, estando de acordo com as recomendações da Comissão de Química e Fertilidade do Solo-RS/SC. A adubação foi realizada na quantidade de 21g por vaso, com base no Manual de Recomendação de Adubação para o RS e SC (100% ROLAS) e distribuída em seis tratamentos: sem calagem e sem adubação, com calagem e sem adubação, com calagem e 50% ROLAS, com calagem e 100% ROLAS, com calagem e 150% ROLAS, com calagem e 200% ROLAS. Conclui-se que, a aplicação de húmus de minhoca nas recomendações de adubação pelo Manual de calagem e adubação para os estados do Rio Grande do Sul e Santa Catarina em 100% e 150% permitem a obtenção de respostas agronômicas da alface 'Regina' compatíveis com as recomendadas para comercialização.
