Considering the relevance of this issue, the authors have conducted the survey of patients with rosacea complicated and uncomplicated with demodicosis and healthy volunteers.The goal of the research was to assess the clinical picture, severity and courses of rosacea, complicated and uncomplicated with Demodex.
Materials and MethodsThe study was conducted in period between 2013-2016 in Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Education (Moscow, Russia). There were 30 patients with rosacea complicated with demodicosis (group I), 30 patients with rosacea without demodicosis (group II) before treatment and 30 healthy volunteers (group III) under the supervision. Rosacea was diagnosed during the primary outpatient admission based on the clinical picture.
Demodex mites are one of the most frequently identified microorganisms in patients with acne and rosacea. There are a lot of methods for detecting of Demodex mites exist. It is always relevance to find and introduce new diagnostic methods with modern characteristics. This article considers different methods of Demodex diagnostic. The literature review represents all advantages and disadvantages of all methods.
