IntroductionThe aim of the research was to determine the influence degree of a sports and rehabilitation program on perception of quality of life among people with visual impairments.MethodsTheoretical analysis, sociological methods (SF-36, 36-item Short Form Health Survey), pedagogical experiment, mathematical and statistical methods were applied. The research involved 34 people with visual impairments, who were divided into 3 groups, depending on the level of their visual impairment.ResultsIt has been figured out that the perception of quality of life in people with visual impairments depends on the level of their vision loss. Among the blind, the perception is significantly lower (p < 0.05) than with moderate or severe visual impairment. A comparison of the evaluation results (with the SF-36 questionnaire) before and after the experiment allowed to determine the impact of the authors’ program on the perception of quality of life in people with visual impairment.ConclusionsA sports and rehabilitation program for people with visual impairments has been created. The program stipulates the fulfilment of rehabilitation tasks as well as tasks of sports training. It preconditions intensive sports training in the future. The implementation of the sports and rehabilitation program has been proved effective (<i>p</i> < 0.05) for the perception of quality of life in people with visual impairments.
. Introduction. Today, the globalization of various spheres of human functioning (economy, politics, etc.) is one of the society trends. Sport as a social practice is also intensively globalized, and this is most clearly seen in the example of professional sport. In this area, today the laws of development (commercial, sports, etc.) are spreading to Olympic and non-Olympic sports, and more globally – the level of professional sport affects the economic development of entire countries and, in many respects – the formation of society. Purpose: to characterize the specifics of globalization of social practice «professional sport» in modern conditions of development. Material and methods. The study was based on the processing of modern scientific articles on the development of professional sport in its various aspects, as well as popular science sources of information and materials on the official websites of leading professional sport organizations. Research methods: analysis and synthesis, historical method, system approach, comparison. Results. Today, the globalization of professional sport is taking place in the following areas: expanding cooperation with media corporations and sponsors; internationalization and commercialization (increase in the number of organizations that oversee various sports and, accordingly, the number of profitable competitions); maximum use of Internet technologies for the promotion of sport products and the development of e-sports within professional sport leagues; increase match attendance by ensuring effective marketing policies; expanding cooperation with the authorities at the state and local levels on mutually beneficial terms; bringing championships beyond national borders (typical of the North American model of professional sport, as for the European throughout the history of its development the emphasis has been and remains on the leading importance of international competitions), etc. Conclusions. Today, due to the processes of society globalization, which actively influence the field of professional sport, this social practice undergoes internal globalization, which can be traced both in purely sport (expanding the calendar of competitions, going beyond national championships, etc.) and commercial areas (expanding cooperation with sponsors, media companies, etc.), technological (introduction of modern technologies, launching a series of cyber competitions, etc.) political (expanding cooperation with state and local authorities), and etc. directions.
Modern physical education in secondary schools is undergoing reform. It is increasingly suggested to introduce the means of different sports to optimize physical education in the educational process. In particular, it is advisable today to include combative sports to the programs of physical culture of military-physical institutions. The purpose of the study: to substantiate the use of wrestling means in the physical education process of students of the Lyceum with enhanced military and physical training. Material and methods. The study was conducted on the basis of studying the functional and physical fitness indicators of 10th grade pupils of the Lyceum with enhanced military and physical training during the pedagogical experiment. It consisted in studying the impact of multidirectional wrestling means on the level of these sides of student preparedness during the year. Results. In pupils who during the year performed the loads according to the experimental physical culture program during the first semester, the total average increase relative to baseline was 10.7%. In addition, during the second – 5.7%. While members of a group that worked according to a traditional physical culture program in the first semester increased the results of the tests by 6.1% and by 2.0% during the second semester. In the physical fitness of EG students, the total increase of indicators for the first semester was 31.6% and 24.5% – during the second. In contrast, the changes in the studied CG were relatively less pronounced: 24.7% – for the first and 8.9% – for the second semester. Conclusions. The effectiveness of the use of wrestling means in the physical education of pupils of the Lyceum with enhanced military and physical training is substantiated, which contributes to a significantly more pronounced increase in functional and physical fitness indicators of pupils compared to the traditional program of physical culture.
The formation of the competition system in professional golf began in the second half of the 19th century. First, tournaments were founded, which later began to be combined into tours. At the same time, the so-called majors remain the pinnacle of both the men's and women's golf calendar. Among men, in particular, there is the so-called Championship of the Professional Golf Association (PGA Championship), which is held exclusively for professional golfers. Accordingly, it has its own characteristic features, which were formed over a long historical period. The purpose of the study was to characterize the historical features of the formation of the Championship of the Professional Golf Association and its current state. Materials and methods: analysis and synthesis, historical method, systematic approach, theoretical interpretation and explanation. Results and conclusion. A key date in the history of the Championship of the Professional Golf Association is 1916, when the tournament was founded by the Professional Golf Association of America and it entered into the Championship of the Professional Golf Association Tour. The tournament is held annually and during the entire history only in 1917, 1918 and 1943, it did not take place due to the World Wars. During 1916-1958, the Championship of the Professional Golf Association was held in the format of match play (play in pairs for the elimination of one of the participants). Since 1958 until today, professional golfers play for the championship in the so-called “stroke play” format (a game for counting the number of strokes on each hole, the participant with the least number of strokes wins). The format of the playoff round, which is held on the condition that the participants in the final are equal in points, also changed during the development of the tournament. Thus, at first, the playoff took place on additional holes until one of the participants won, and today its format involves playing on three mandatory holes. In 1998, the Championship of the Professional Golf Association became a part of the Championship of the Professional Golf Association European Tour, another of golf's most prestigious tours. Today, the prize pool of the tournament is $15 million, which is the second largest award in the majors. At the same time, there have been no significant changes in the format of the Championship of the Professional Golf Association and its calendar in the last twenty years. For a long time, the tournament starts in May and is the second major among the Championship of the Professional Golf Association Tour calendar. At the same time, in 2020 and 2021, the tour experienced a decrease in total revenues as a result of measures caused by the COVID pandemic
