O presente ensaio busca analisar, mediante as catástrofes coletivas referentes à Nakba e Shoá, como as memórias e identidades da Palestina e de Israel, ao passo que tentaram e tentam se constituir como opostas, inexoravelmente se entrelaçam e acabam por constituir uma influência recíproca. Esses países, que possuem histórias indissociáveis e sobrepostas, carregam consigo um passado ainda muito recente, seja por eventos reincidentes ou por memórias dissidentes que não ganham espaço no que tenta se constituir como “memória coletiva”. Analisa-se então como essa disputa, que não ocorre somente em âmbito territorial, decorre através dos meandros da memória.
