The Covid-19 pandemic caused a large amount of medical mask waste to be buried in the environment. Medical masks are one of the categories of B3 waste that should require a special treatment process. In fact, in the current pandemic conditions, medical mask waste can be found along with household waste without special treatment and separation. Medical masks have the potential to contain pathogenic microbial populations that attack the human respiratory system. On the other hand, microbes themselves are a group of organisms that are susceptible to mutation. Management of medical mask waste that does not comply with B3 waste management standards will have an impact on the emergence of new problems in the future. The purpose of this study was to identify the distribution of microorganism populations in mask waste samples taken randomly from household waste disposal sites. The medical mask waste sample will then be isolated and identified to determine the medical mask waste sample’s microbiome variations. Based on the research results, it was found that 47% of the microorganisms detected were coliform microorganisms, 20% of other organisms were unidentified microorganisms, and the remaining 33% were pathogenic microorganisms.
Abstract. This study aims to determine the physical and chemical quality of cow's milk produced in Jember and provide an appropriate education for the community regarding the procedure for assessing the feasibility of milk to be consumed through non-text books. The analysis of the physical quality of cow's milk includes boiling test, alcohol test, and specific gravity test, while the chemical quality analysis of cow's milk includes pH test and fat content test. The development of non-text books is carried out using the R2D2 (Reflective, Recursive, Design, and Development) development model. Based on the results of the study, it is known that samples of cow's milk from dairy industry A and milk industry B have physical and chemical qualities that are in accordance with milk quality standards that are safe for consumption according to SNI and Codex. The average result of the validation of non-textbook products developed was 94.84 percent from the three validators. Thus, the non-textbook product is very suitable to be used as a non-textbook, especially non-text books for knowledge enrichment.
Although the Covid-19 pandemic has been going on for more than a year since it was first discovered in Wuhan, China, in mid-December 2020 until now, the pandemic is still ongoing, and there are no signs of a decrease in cases. The latest developments show that Covid-19 has undergone significant mutations in several areas in America, Europe, and Africa. The mutation of Covid-19 may be caused by environmental conditions that are not the concern of various parties. This research was conducted to find a gene marker from Covid-19 that could be used as a media for rapid screening when sorting medical mask waste so that later waste processing techniques could be carried out separately between masks that could potentially contain Covid-19 and waste that did not contain Covid-19. This research method was carried out using bioinformatics analysis, especially the genomic characterization of Covid-19 samples from 17 different countries. Based on the study results, it is known that from 17 samples of Covid-19, the ORF 1 gene was the most stable and conserved gene in all samples.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
