Background: Obesity is a health condition that causes a great impact on public health. The aim of this study was to determine the association between dermatoglyphic characteristics and excessive weight in children and adolescents aged 10 to 19 years in the center-west region of Santa Catarina, Brazil.Methods: The sample comprised of 2,172 children and adolescents aged 10 to 19 years old of both sexes and from public and private teaching networks.Results: The results suggested a predictive marker of obesity, with a greater number of lines in left hand finger two (Mesql2) and a higher frequency of the whorl pattern in participants of a healthy weight, while the overweight group had a higher frequency of the radial loop pattern and the obese group had a higher frequency of the ulnar loop pattern.Conclusion: It was concluded that there may be different dermatoglyphic characteristics depending on the nutritional status of children and adolescents.

O estudo do perfil motivacional em ambientes educacionais tem sido alvo de centros de pesquisa de diversas instituições de ensino de nível básico ou superior, bem como a análise das abordagens de aprendizagem e da satisfação de estudantes universitários com a vida. O objetivo deste trabalho é identificar os perfis motivacionais, as formas de estudo e a satisfação de estudantes universitários com a vida. Trata-se de estudo descritivo quanto aos objetivos, e quantitativo quanto à abordagem do problema, com desenho transversal, analítico-observacional. Para avaliar a motivação dos estudantes, foi utilizada a Escala de Motivação Situacional (SIMS); para medir os enfoques de aprendizagem, o instrumento utilizado foi o Questionário Revisado sobre o Processo de Estudo (R-SPQ-2F); e para avaliar a satisfação com a vida, foi utilizada a Escala de Satisfação com a Vida (SWLS). O perfil motivacional dos estudantes se mostrou mais autodeterminado, ligado à motivação intrínseca. As abordagens de estudo foram relacionadas a motivações profundas e os estudantes se mostraram satisfeitos com a vida. Observou-se correlação positiva entre a motivação intrínseca, a abordagem de estudo de motivo profundo e estratégia profunda, e a satisfação com a vida.
Resumo: Os sistemas de informação são capazes de transmitir de informações de forma rápida, fácil e segura, auxiliando os profissionais no processo de trabalho. Em saúde, são recursos computacionais importantes, que auxiliam nas ações técnico-burocráticas, ações de conhecimento técnico-científico, principalmente as que dependem de informações atualizadas. O Cartão SUS implantado nos princípios de universalidade de acesso, integralidade e equidade pode ser um importante sistema de informação em saúde. As informações geradas podem beneficiar os usuários, facilitando o acesso a exames e consultas. Os profissionais ao atender um usuário podem ter o histórico do paciente, facilitando o diagnóstico e reduzindo custos por não aplicar procedimentos ou solicitar exames já realizados anteriormente. O gestor obterá informações fundamentais para desenvolver ações apropriadas com as necessidades dos usuários, logo, evitando evasão de recursos. O objetivo do estudo é fazer uma reflexão sobre a contribuição, necessidade e finalidade do cartão SUS.
