Seria a responsividade de Waldenfels uma continuidade eficaz para fundamentar a ética fundada em Merleau-Ponty? Seria possível a construção de uma ética que fosse irredutível às diferenças sem tornar o Eu transcendental husserliano em algo absoluto? Essas são algumas das perguntas que compõem o texto presente, no qual será abordada a importância do corpo próprio no entrelaçamento entre o eu e o outro, entre aquilo que é próprio e o que é impróprio, na busca de elucidar uma possível ética responsiva emergida da experiência sensível do Lebenswelt que desperta a racionalidade prática do eu posso.
Nesse artigo será dado destaque a certas críticas que foram dirigidas aMerleau-Ponty em sua comunicação intitulada “O primado da percepção e suasconsequências filosóficas”. A teoria da percepção merleau-pontyana é acusada de ser um relativismo por afirmar que a percepção depende das coisas e de nosso corpo e, assim, de ser um retorno ao protagorismo já que o que é percebido depende do sujeito percebedor. Mas é necessário mostrar uma ideia contrária a esse relativismo, na qual Merleau-Ponty esboça os pontos de sua teoria que traz a percepção como a principal modalidade da consciência e que tem como conseqüências a re-conquista do mundo percebido, através de um retorno reflexivo às origens da percepção que é fundante de toda experiência científica, ética e racional, e a veracidade da realidade através da comunicação objetivante daquilo que é percebido.
