ResumenLa educación de personas mayores constituye una de las funciones clave que hoy debe asumir la universidad española dentro del marco del aprendizaje permanente y en el actual contexto demográfico. Aprender a lo largo de toda la vida genera numerosas ventajas y oportunidades, si consideramos al tiempo como un reto individual y un fenómeno social. Así, en este ensayo se reflexiona en torno a la expansión de la educación universitaria para mayores en España y sobre las razones y los beneficios de volver a las aulas universitarias, describiendo uno de los programas referente en este tipo de oferta formativa.
Resumen Con el objeto de evaluar la desigualdad de género en la investigación científica médica, se analizan las bases de datos institucionales de investigación de la Universidad de Valencia (2000-2018), de las facultades de ciencias de la salud (Medicina y Odontología, Farmacia, Enfermería y Fisioterapia), considerando sexo, categoría académica, edad y especialidad clínica de los investigadores/as. Los académicos son responsables de un número abrumador de proyectos y contratos de investigación, de importes mucho más elevados que los dirigidos por sus colegas mujeres. El estudio revela también segregación horizontal y una brecha salarial de género significativa, subrayando la necesidad de políticas que optimicen el talento y el trabajo de las científicas médicas españolas en beneficio de la sociedad.
La elección consciente de educar a los hijos en casa, o homeschooling, es adoptada por determinadas familias como una forma de objeción a la escolarización obligatoria; en ella las familias diseñan y desarrollan un currículo y un proyecto educativo propio. Actualmente esta opción educativa se revela como una vía minoritaria, pero emergente. Se trata de un fenómeno poco estudiado, y por ello, merecedor del acercamiento académico para inquirir acerca de las motivaciones de las personas que ejercen esta opción educativa, así como por su esencia y formas de ejercicio. Las respuestas legales adoptadas en los países de nuestro entorno con relación al homeschooling, lejos de presentar un panorama jurídico uniforme, ofrecen un abanico que va desde la aceptación hasta la prohibición, pasando por soluciones intermedias, con matices muy diversos. En España, una reciente e importantísima sentencia ha fijado jurisprudencialmente las posibilidades de esta vía educativa a la luz de la Constitución Española de 1978.
En el presente artículo se analizarán los usos y beneficios que reportaría trabajar con hologramas como material didáctico, como así demuestran los estudios de Ghuloum, Escrivà y Orcos. A través de estas propuestas didácticas se refuerza la idea de que el uso de la técnica de representación en tres dimensiones puede beneficiar al alumnado en la adquisición de los contenidos geométricos presentes en el currículum oficial. El ámbito de la geometría ofrece una amplia gama de contenidos que posibilitan trabajar mediante técnicas de representación gráfica. Cabe destacar, por otra parte, que ahora los estudiantes de educación primaria están socializados en el acceso y uso de imágenes de todo tipo, sin duda alguna su pensamiento visual está más evolucionado que el de generaciones anteriores, como ponen de manifiesto autores como Brea, Steiner, Gruzinsky o Mitchell. Con el manejo, tanto por parte del profesorado como del alumnado, de programas de diseño 3D y la utilización de la técnica holográfica del Fantasma de Pepper se consiguen imágenes realistas de figuras con volumen y que a los estudiantes de primaria les interesa de modo especial. A partir de estrategias de observación, se ha podido constatar con algunos estudiantes que, cuando trabajan con estos recursos, mejoran considerablemente su dominio de las formas geométricas y los conceptos que las acompañan.
Este artículo expone parte de los resultados de una investigación más amplia sobre igualdad y violencia de género en colegios públicos de infantil y primaria, que parte de considerar la violencia de género como un grave problema social, que viola los derechos humanos fundamentales y constituye el símbolo más brutal de la desigualdad de género, así como de la necesidad de abordarla desde el ámbito escolar, mediante su prevención desde los primeros pasos del proceso de socialización y educación. Apoyándose en la percepción y opiniones de la dirección, que ostenta un prisma privilegiado en la escuela, el estudio analiza las actitudes de la comunidad escolar, así como las estrategias de los centros educativos hacia la construcción de una cultura de género basada en la igualdad y en el fomento de habilidades en la resolución pacífica de conflictos. La calidad de los materiales educativos en la contribución a la igualdad entre los sexos, así como la formación específica del profesorado en materia de igualdad y tolerancia, prevención y detección de la violencia de género, completan la investigación. El estudio combina metodología cuantitativa y cualitativa-una encuesta a la dirección de 340 centros escolares públicos gallegos, además de entrevistas en profundidad semiestructuradas a otros 20 directores/as-. La investigación muestra la necesidad de avanzar en igualdad y en la prevención de la violencia de género, al evidenciar un débil interés de los colectivos de la comunidad escolar y una mejorable implicación de los centros educativos, unidas a la escasa formación del profesorado en la materia. Unos resultados que conectan con otros trabajos, que identifican barreras que impiden claros progresos en igualdad de género en la escuela y mediante la educación, la herramienta más potente que la sociedad posee para lograr un objetivo complejo, pero irrenunciable, que por ello exige investigación y debate.
