Este estudo objetivou analisar a associação entre o uso adicto de redes sociais, sintomas depressivos e ansiedade social. Participaram da pesquisa 161 indivíduos, (M = 29,9 anos; DP = 10,1), maiores de 18 anos de ambos os sexos. Devido à pandemia da Covid-19, os dados foram coletados online, através dos instrumentos Cuestionario de Adicción a Redes Sociales (CARS), Questionário de Ansiedade Social para Adultos (CASO), Escala Baptista de Depressão – Adulto – versão breve (EBADEP-A – versão breve) e Questionário Sociodemográfico. A partir da análise dos dados houve relato de maior frequência de uso de internet constantemente durante a pandemia, correlação positiva de moderada magnitude entre o uso adicto de redes sociais e sintomas depressivos, bem como com ansiedade social. Depressão e ansiedade apresentaram correlação positiva e de baixa magnitude. O sexo feminino apresentou maiores médias para depressão e uso adicto de redes sociais. Por fim, uma análise de caminho (path analysis) indicou que o uso adicto de redes sociais é preditivo para sintomatologia depressiva e de ansiedade social. Limitações do estudo e sugestão para novas pesquisas são discutidas.
