This work undertook an analysis of a territorial, political and economic cut, which we call the Region of Carajás, that is, where the largest mining projects of the Vale company are concentrated in the Southeast region of the state of Pará. The mineral province of Carajásis also considered, due to the effects of the mining activities; making it possible to carry out this cut in the municipalities (Parauapebas, Canaã dos Carajás, Marabá, Ourilândia do Norte, São Felix do Xingu and Curionópolis) where the largest Vale projects are concentrated, mainly from the first half of the twenty-first century. To this end, a geographic reading of the territorial transformations in Carajás and the reorganization of the territory were carried out, to think about the regional development articulated on different scales, provided by the mining activities in the state of Pará.
The so-called geotechnology has been used in recent years in the planning, supervision and monitoring of various human activities, both locally and regionally, nationally and internationally, either it in the rural environment, as in urban áreas. This study, based on references and activities in the Geographic Information Analysis Laboratory of the Federal University of Pará (LAIG/UFPA), selects and presents the application of three tools for spatial analysis available in the Terraview [1] and Arcgis softwares, with the main objective being to demonstrate how they can be applied in geographical studies, starting with the spatial information gathered by remote or Field sensors, assisting the activities of researchers who stick to working with the planning and management of natural and human resources. Geotechnologies are important tools in the analysis of geographic space and its use tends to be increased with the advancement of new software and hardware collection, manipulation and generation of new specialized information. So we will do in this manuscript a brief discussion of three spatial analysis tools that can be used in rural areas with agricultural potential.

Geography was always concerned with the study of the relationship between social groups and the environment in which they interact as natural resources for their survival. This relationship was always intertwined by power determinations in the organization of forms of appropriation of natural resources, deriving different types of territorial assets. These territorial assets demonstrate a variety of actors, involved in a certain territory and materializing different actions for the appropriation of space and use of the natural resources. In the case of fishing this is not different, since we verified that fishing practice is witnessed by a variety of actors, fishermen, fishing community, fishing association, fishing zone and regulatory agencies. Each of these actors relate in specific ways to the fishing spaces and material specific actions to define the territory, adopting territorial assets and a diversity of perceptions which sometimes conflict with each other. This study is part of a research which, through direct field research, aims at accomplishing an analysis of the way of life of the fishermen of the Colony of Fishermen Z 62, headquartered in the municipal district of Breves, state of Pará, and how they acknowledge their territory, in the way they interact with other actors who use the same territory in other ways unrelated to fishing.
AbstractIn several coastal communities that inhabit the river banks in Amazon (Pará), the extraction of fishery resources is the main source of income and obtaining food (SILVA, 2006;2008;SILVA et al, 2011). In such activities, artisanal fishing has a major role, given the abundance of fish that can be caught in Amazonian rivers. To extract fishes are used various apparatuses and boats that facilitate extractive activity by artisanal fishermen. This paper aims to demonstrate the use of the concept of territory and its applicability in a river environment, emphasizing how is the territoriality of fishermen, according to the use of fishing tools. For this analysis, it should be realized that the issue of territoriality appears to be linked to the fishery resource, given the influence of resources in the training of human territoriality, for the habits and customs, in this case, techniques and technologies directly influence in the territories occupied by fishermen, forming its various territorialities.
