Taking the landslides in Enshi Autonomous Prefecture for Tujia & Miao Nationalities (abbr. Enshi) as the study object, using statistic data of land use patterns as primary data resource, combined with engineering analogy method and ground investigations to find out the characteristics of the spatial distribution of the landslides in Enshi (including landslides location, quantity and corresponding land use patterns), this study aims to explore the landslide susceptibility to different land use patterns and the mechanisms of different land use patterns bringing about the landslides in Enshi. The results show that influences of different land use patterns on slope stability are different. Of which the land for construction exerts the largest negative impact on slope, while the woodland enhances slope stability.Index Terms-landslide, Land use patterns, slope stability, Enshi I.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
