Mangrove crab (Scylla serrata) is one of the prima donna sources of protein caught by fishermen around mangrove forest waters in the waters of the Barumun River Estuary, Labuhanbatu Regency. This study aims to inform about condition factors, growth patterns of crab populations, and reproductive aspects in the form of abundance of Gonad Maturity Level (TKG). Determination of 3 sampling points is done by using purposive random sampling method. Scylla serrata sampling was carried out using Bubu. Data analysis presents information on the abundance of gonadal maturity level, growth pattern, and Fulton condition factor (K), which is presented quantitatively. The results showed that male and female Scylla serrata growth patterns were categorized as negative allometric b < 3, with carapace width growth being faster than weight gain. Fulton condition factor (K) values obtained ranged from 50.14-132.75 for male Scylla serrata, and female ranged from 80.34-123.94. The gonadal maturity level of Scylla serrata was dominated by TKG II crabs, and the lowest abundance of gonad maturity was in TKG IV crabs. This indicates that, in December-February, the condition of the Scylla serrata population around the mangrove forest waters of the Barumun river estuary, is predicted to be in the stage of adult dominance that is ready to reproduce and prepare to spawn.
Abstract. Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) have been synthesized via green method using rambutan (Nephelium lappaceum L.) peel (RP) extract. RP extract was prepared by washing the RP using tap water thoroughly and boiling it in distilled water at 70°C for 60 min. RP extract and AgNO3 were used as the starting materials for the synthesis of AgNPs. RP extract was added to 10 -3 M AgNO3 solution with a ratio by volume of 1:10 (RP : AgNO3), stirred at room temperature. The solution's color changes from reddish to dark brown, indicating the reduction of Ag + in the solution. The synthesized AgNPs were characterized using UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, FTIR Spectrophotometer, and Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy-dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (SEM-EDS) instruments. UV-Visible spectra show that the AgNPs have the maximum absorption band at 450 nm which is typical for AgNPs. The FTIR spectra revealed that the protein in RP extract acts as the capping agent for the synthesized AgNPs. The synthesized AgNPs were tested for their antibacterial activity against Salmonella parathypi A. The antibacterial test shows that 50 µL of AgNPs resulted in the inhibition zone of 4 mm against the aforementioned microorganism.
Mangrove as one of the bacterial community development area, one of which is a probiotic bacterium. Exploration of probiotic bacteria in the mud of mangrove forest has not been done, especially in the mud in the mangrove forest Wonorejo, Rungkut-Surabaya. This study aims to determine the candidate probiotic bacteria species found in mangrove forests Wonorejo. This research method is descriptive in the form of sludge sampling surveys at five different points area. Sampling points are T1, T2, T3, T4 and T5. T1 is an area of mangrove forest near Wonorejo milkfish. T2 is a region of southern estuarine mangrove forest near Wonorejo milkfish. T3 is a region of northern estuary mangrove forest Wonorejo near sewerage drains Wonorejo citizens. T4 is a region of southern estuarine mangrove forest Wonorejo and T5 is a region of northern estuarine mangrove forest Wonorejo. Fifth sludge samples performed a series of tests in the identification bekteri Hall Fish Quarantine, Quality Control and Safety of Fishery Products Class 1 Juanda. Data were analyzed by descriptive identification results by describing the data distribution of probiotic bacteria at each sampling point area Wonorejo mangrove mud. The results showed that probiotic candidate bacterias found were Bacillus sp., B. subtilis, B. licheniformis, Pseudomonas sp., P. pseudomallei, Vibrio alginolyticus and Microccus sp.
