A part from educational purposes, the learning of English worldwide has been found to have social and economic implication to its learners. It is seen as "social and economical mobilizer". In many countries, English learners are seen as more educated and thus gain some degree of higher respectability in their society. English is desired, even required by companies in recruiting their employees. Those who know English are easier in getting desirable jobs compared to non-English knower. Learning English becomes a tool to socially move to upper level. This certainly has significant implication to Teaching English as Second or Foreign language. Many countries become well aware of this phenomenon and thus rule out English become a musttaught subject in schools.
Kepatuhan perawat dalam penerapan standar keperawatan dan standar operasional prosedur sebagai salah satu ukuran keberhasilan pelayanan keperawatan sehingga tidak terjadi infeksi pada luka yang dapat mengakibatkan lama perawatan dan komplikasi. Tujuan penelitian adalah Mengetahui hubungan kepatuhan perawat dalam pelaksanaan standar operasional prosedur perawatan luka operasi dengan kejadian infeksi luka operasi sectio caesaria di ruang X Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Ciawi. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian korelasional, dengan Metode penelitian kuantitaif. Populasi dalam penelitian yaitu 30 orang, dengan total sampling. Analisa data menggunakan analisa univariat dan bivariate. Analisa univariat didapatkan karakteristik responden sebagian besar berusia 21-30 tahun, berjenis kelamin perempuan, Pendidikan terakhirnya yaitu D3 Keperawatan, status Kepegawaian BLUD (Badan Layanan Umum Daerah). Analisa Bivariat menggunakan uji statistik chi-square. Hasil penelitian di dapatkan bahwa tingkat kepatuhan responden sebagian besar patuh (72%) dan tidak terjadi infeksi (67%). Hasil tabulasi silang diperoleh nilai (p=0.000) yang berarti bahwa Ada hubungan kepatuhan perawat dalam pelaksanaan standar operasional prosedur perawatan luka operasi dengan kejadian infeksi luka operasi section caesaria di ruang X Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Ciawi.
This research manages to analyze the effectiveness of DRA in enhancing students ‘skill in reading comprehension. The researchers carried out the research at SMP N 4 Takengon, in which they found that teachers faced some problems in teaching reading comprehension to students. To figure out the answer, the research applies quantitative research with experimental approach. After statistically obtaining and interpreting the data, the study concludes that Directed Reading Activity (DRA) method is able to increase students reading comprehension skill. This is because that Directed Reading Activity (DRA) is a teacher strategy in reading comprehension that emphasizes on instructional support before, during, and aftermath the reading. Meanwhile, the research found that this strategy is also able to increase and build stronger student vocabulary and reading skill. In conclusion, the DRA strategy is effective in improving students’ ability in reading comprehension, and also building their vocabulary.
<span>The COVID-19 pandemic has transformed education worldwide. Learning that is usually done offline has turned into online learning to avoid the spread of the COVID-19 virus. The purpose of writing this article is to describe the latest and updated learning conditions during the COVID-19 pandemic. What kind of learning was carried out during the COVID-19 pandemic, was the learning effective, how was the learning outcome, and the challenges faced. The systematic literature review is used to find answers to this article's purpose by synthesizing 53 articles selected according to the criteria. The synthesis results found that online learning was carried out using video conference as a substitute for face-to-face meetings, discussions, exams, and learning feedback using supporting applications. The internet was the direct support. Most of the learning shows significant results. Learning outcomes cannot be concluded whether it is good or not. There are many challenges during learning. It indicates that the world of education is not fully ready to transform from offline learning to online learning. A standard platform for online learning and rules of learning is required to minimize negative impacts and pay attention to the socio-emotional aspect.</span>
