O presente artigo objetivou identificar as evidências cientifícas sobre o estado nutricional e a incidência de doenças crônicas em idosos. Para a seleção da amostra definiu-se critérios de artigos indexados de 2012 a 2020 publicados em periódicos nacionais e internacionais. A coleta de dados foi realizada na base de dados SCIELO, Pubmed e LILACS utilizando os seguintes descritores: idoso, estado nutricional e doença Crônica. A busca resultou em 42 artigos e após utilização dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, restaram 5 artigos para análise, interpretação e discussão. Observou-se uma elevada prevalência de sobrepeso entre os idosos, especialmente no sexo feminino. Constatou-se ainda que a hipertensão arterial sistêmica foi a doença mais prevalente. Possivelmente esses achados se devem a má qualidade dos hábitos alimentares sugerindo uma relação entre o estado nutricional e a incidência de doenças crônicas em idosos. Ressalta-se, portanto, a necessidade da implementação efetiva das políticas públicas que enfatizem a mudança de hábitos e estilos de vida da população idosa, incluindo a prática de atividade física associada à mudança de hábitos alimentares e acompanhamento nutricional a fim de se adequar as práticas dietéticas na prevenção e controle de doenças crônicas, melhorando a qualidade de vida desse segmento populacional.
O presente artigo objetivou analisar e destacar a importância de uma alimentação saudável em meio a pandemia da COVID-19, através de uma revisão literária, buscando ressaltar os cuidados com alimentação para promoção e prevenção e manutenção da saúde. Para a seleção da amostra definiu-se critérios de artigos indexados de 2011 a 2021 publicados em periódicos nacionais e internacionais. A coleta de dados foi realizada na base de dados SCIELO, Pubmed e Google acadêmico utilizando os seguintes descritores: Alimentação, Covid-19, Imunidade. A busca resultou em 15 artigos e após utilização dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, restaram 10 artigos para análise, interpretação e discussão. Observou-se que muitos são os fatores que podem influenciar na nossa imunidade como sono, atividade física, fatores emocionais e a alimentação. Os micronutrientes exercem papéis vitais no sistema imunológico, sendo os mais necessários para sustentar a imunocompetência, as vitaminas A, C, D, complexo B, betacaroteno, ferro, selênio e zinco. A resposta imune fica comprometida quando o estado nutricional se encontra inadequado, predispondo os indivíduos a infecções. Conclui-se que apesar da pandemia do novo coronavírus trazer vários problemas é necessário ressaltar que pacientes suspeitos ou positivos para covid-19 devem receber todo o suporte nutricional necessário.
Com os avanços tecnológicos, foi ofertado a opção do uso do Ambiente Virtual de Aprendizagem (AVA), possibilitando maior interatividade no cotidiano do ensino de nutrição estimulando os educadores a representarem suas práticas pedagógicas. O presente estudo tem como objetivo relatar a experiência do emprego do ambiente virtual no ensino de nutrição na perspectiva dos alunos. A disciplina “Nutrição Experimental e Práticas em Pesquisas” foi ministrada a 49 alunos do 6° e 7° período do Curso de Graduação em nutrição, dos quais 26 responderam um questionário com questões fechadas, sendo uma questão aberta sobre o uso do AVA. Os alunos consideraram o AVA uma ferramenta facilitadora da aprendizagem, do processo de construção do conhecimento e interação entre alunos, professores e tutores enriquecendo, assim, o compartilhamento de ideias e permitindo uma aprendizagem significativa e colaborativa. O estudo revelou a necessidade de aperfeiçoar o uso de AVA no ensino de graduação em nutrição.
