The problem in this case study is the high index of DMF-T in Piton 1 Elementary School. The purpose of this study was to find the correlation of nutritional status with DMF-T among students in Piton 1 Elementary School. This type of research is analytic observational research with cross sectional approach. The population in this case study was Piton 1 Elementary Schools's students with a large sample of 60 students. The method used for data collection is the inspection method. The analysis technique used is the chi-square data analysis tehnique. The results showed that there was no relationship between nutritional status and DMF-T among students in Piton 1 Elementary School, Punung District, Pacitan Regency. Latar Belakang: Kesehatan gigi dan mulut berperan dalam menentukan status kesehatan seseorang. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah tingginya angka karies yang terjadi pada anak usia sekolah. Karies gigi yang berlanjut dapat menimbulkan gangguan asupan makanan sehingga menyebabkan terganggunya pertumbuhan dan perkembangan anak. Pertumbuhan dan perkembangan yang terganggu dapat mempengaruhi status gizi seorang anak. Status gizi merupakan salah satu penyebab yang mempengaruhi kesehatan gigi pada anak. Tujuan: untuk menjelaskan determinan status gizi pada status kesehatan gigi anak usia sekolah. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini yaitu systematic literature review. Pencarian jurnal dilakukan dari tahun 2016-2020 pada database Google Schooler, PubMed, dan DOAJ dalam bahasa indonesia dan bahasa inggris. Stategi pencarian jurnal menggunakan PICOS dengan keyword nutrional status AND dental health AND children. Jurnal dipilih berdasarkan sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi yang akan di review. Hasil: Hasil pencarian melalui 3 database didapatkan 12 artikel yang berasal dari negara Indonesia, Turki, Bosnia dan Herzegovina, Brazil, USA, dan Mexico city, Iran, India, dan Nepal. Didapatkan tahun publikasi yang beragam yaitu dari tahun 2016 sampai tahun 2020. Penyebab dari status gizi pada status kesehatan gigi anak usia sekolah terdiri dari penyebab langsung yaitu asupan makan dan penyakit infeksi; penyebab tidak langsung yaitu kecukupan pangan, pola asuh, sanitasi, dan pelayanan kesehatan; dan penyebab mendasar yaitu krisi sosial ekonomi, dan krisis politik. Kesimpulan: Pada 12 artikel didapatkan rata-rata anak yang memiiki masalah pada status gizinya dapat mempengaruhi kesehatan giginya.
Salah satu komplikasi Diabetes Melitus di bidang kedokteran gigi adalah oral diabetic meliputi mulut kering (xerostomia), gusi mudah berdarah (gingivitis), karang gigi (calculus), resorbsi tulang alveolaris, dan periodontitis. Periodontitis merupakan komplikasi yang sering terjadi pada penderita diabetes melitus dengan tingkat prevalansi yang tinggi hingga mencapai angka 75% (Nandya, dkk, 2012 dalam Lestari, dkk, 2016). Kota Probolinggo sendiri memiliki proporsi masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut kurang lebih 65% - 70% dan yang merawat gigi kurang lebih 8,5% - 10% dari jumlah penduduk 217.062 jiwa. Masalah penelitian ini adalah Tingginya Prevalensi Periodontitis di Puskesmas Maron Kabupaten Probolinggo. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk metahui Motivasi tentang Pemeliharaan Kesehatan Gigi dan Mulut (Periodontitis) pada Pasien Diabetes Melitus di Puskesmas Maron Kabupaten Probolinggo. Metode penelitian dengan mengisi kueisioner dan pemeriksaan, jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan sasaran pasien Diabetes Melitus sebanyak 30 orang. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan motivasi dorongan termasuk kuat (75%), motivasi harapan kuat (71%), motivasi imbalan kuat (59%). Dapat disimpulkan motivasi pasien Diabetes Melitus tentang kesehatan gigi dan mulut adalah kuat (69%). Kata Kunci : motivasi, pemeliharaan kesehatan, diabetes melitus, leaflet.
Tooth loss is a cause of decreased masticatory function that affects the oral cavity and general health in the elderly. The elderly was expected to have at least 20 working teeth, meaning that the masticatory, aesthetic and speech functions were considered normal, although less than 32 teeth. This study aims to determine the relationship between the dental and oral health of the elderly with the number of functioning teeth at the Hargo Dedali Nursing Home in Surabaya. This type of research is analytic with a cross sectional design. The total population is 38 elderly and the research sample is 35 elderly using random sampling technique with purposive sampling. Method analyzed technique uses the Pearson Correlation test. The result of this research is the elderly population is female. Their age range is between 60-92 years. Questions were answered correctly overall by 48.1%. The most questions answered incorrectly about tooth loss by 67.9%. There are 3 elderly who have 20 working teeth. The average working gear is 9.3 or 9 teeth per person. Data are normally distributed. There is a relationship between the two variables (0.000 < 0.05). Conclusion of this research is smaller the value of dental and oral health knowledge of the elderly, the less the number of teeth that work. The benefits of this research can provide awareness and motivation for families, nursing home managers, health workers in an effort to serve dental and oral health in the elderly.
