O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar folhas frescas de Gliricidia sepium (GS) por ovinos da raça Santa Inês através das seguintes variáveis: consumo de matéria seca total (CMST), ganho de peso diário (GPD), ganho de peso total (GPT) e conversão alimentar (CA). Utilizou-se 16 ovinos, peso inicial de 18 kg e faixa etária de 4 a 6 meses, confinados por 98 dias, distribuídos em baias individuais, submetidos aos seguintes tratamentos, segundo um delineamento inteiramente casualizado, com quatro repetições: T1= capim elefante (Pennisetum purpureum Schum. cv. Napier), à vontade, com 45 dias de idade; T2= folhagem fresca de GS (2% sobre o peso vivo, na base de matéria seca) + capim elefante à vontade; T3= folhagem fresca de GS (4% sobre o peso vivo, na base de matéria seca) + capim elefante à vontade e T4 = folhagem fresca de GS, à vontade. A GS e o capim-elefante apresentaram, respectivamente, a seguinte composição química: 23,11 e 22,11% de MS; 24,11 e 12,00% de PB; 0,90 e 0,59% de Ca; 0,16 e 0,20% de P; 38,81 e 61,64% de FDN; 24,30 e 34,42% de FDA. Não foram encontradas diferenças significativas (p>0,05) para o consumo de matéria seca total (CMST) nas dietas exclusivas (T1 e T4) com valores de 75,29 kg e 65,83 kg, respectivamente. Os tratamentos T2 e T3, com dietas mistas, apresentaram CMST superiores (p0,05), porém a dieta T1 apresentou uma CA significativamente maior que as demais (p
