Abstract-Sustainability is one of the most significant challenges that societies face today. Over recent years environmental considerations have become an important part of all projects and companies are integrating sustainability in their strategy. The need for sustainability is the crucial factor for projects success and project management as a key skill need to develop to execute and guide the project in a sustainable way. The purpose of this work is to discuss the concept of sustainability, highlighting it application in project management and introducing the potential area of integration of sustainability idea in project management. Consequently aiming at providing the insight and increasing the awareness of project oriented organizations concerning sustainability issue.Index Terms-Sustainable business and technology, sustainable project management, environmental engineering, education in sustainable development.

The paper argues that multilevel approach is the key driver of successful sustainable project portfolio management. Hereby, this paper strives to underpin the theory and the logic behind the sustainable project management, while providing sustainable competitive advantages. Therefore, it develops an innovative multilevel framework, and analyses the current project management products and processes, and consequently presents a more holistic insight for the implementation of sustainability in project portfolio management.
The present study sheds light on transdisciplinary education through the application of a scoping literature review, as a lack of a comprehensive synthesis in this area is evident. Thus, the overview frames and outlines the scattered research that has been fulfilled until now in this field. As a result, within transdisciplinary education, medical and adolescent themes form the main scopes, while within sustainable transdisciplinary education, pedagogical design, socio-efficiency, and philosophy are the major themes. Furthermore, the present study contributes to the understanding of transdisciplinary education by highlighting the avenues for future research. Consequently, the translation of transdisciplinary teaching practices to comparable languages and an increase of transparency in the application and reporting of the transdisciplinary design steps are suggested.
In recent years, the idea of integration of sustainability into project management has been put forth, which requires a more comprehensive and holistic approach to project management. Integration of sustainability increases the complexity of project management. Therefore, project management organizations require a framework capable of opening up the traditional organization of the project business and providing competitive advantages. This study argues that the open innovation model presents the requisite capability to approach this issue. This research, through a structured review of the literature and an overview of the open innovation and project management knowledge areas, explains how open innovation can provide a fruitful contribution to the integration of sustainable development into project portfolio management and why it should be favoured. The findings show that open innovation can facilitate the environmental, social and economic sustainability of projects, while rendering the project organization more agile.
