A Bignoniaceae Tabebuia é uma árvore que floresce em dias secos e cinzentos. Floresce para anunciar tempos melhores. Aspiramos o mesmo ao tratar do racismo na sociedade contemporânea qual temática muito cara para boa parte da população mundial, que têm sistematicamente sido afligida por esse mal. Assumimos raça, neste ensaio, em seu sentido mais amplo relacionando-o ao conceito de rizoma (Deleuze & Guattari, 1995). O convite é pensar com as plantas e sua forma de organização da multiplicidade. Nosso objetivo neste ensaio é alinhavar os princípios rizomáticos ao racismo, que se manifesta de diferentes maneiras no tessitura social como, por exemplo, por meio da falácia da democracia racial, na academia, na língua, na literatura e através de discursos racistas, que carecem de arqueologia própria para que se compreenda seus vários níveis de ocultação. Não é nossa pretensão de esgotar o assunto. Antes, porém, nosso interesse é provocar reflexões e novos debates com vistas à primavera anunciada pelo Ipê.
