I. General Methods and materials: Unless otherwise noted, all commercial reagents and solvents were obtained from the commercial provider and used without further purification. Anhydrous toluene was distilled from sodium benzophenone ketyl. 1 H-NMR and 13 C-NMR spectra were recorded on Joel 270 and Varian 600 MHz spectrometers. Chemical shifts were reported relative to internal tetramethysilane (δ 0.00 ppm) or CDCl 3 (δ 7.26 ppm) for 1 H and CDCl 3 (δ 77.0 ppm) for 13 C. 31 P-NMR was recorded on Varian 600 MHz spectrometer operating at 242.88 MHz for 31 P. Chemical shifts were reported in ppm down field from internal Me 4 Si and external 85% H 3 PO 4 , respectively. Flash column chromatography was performed on 230-430 mesh silica gel. Melting points were measured on a Mel-Temp 1001D apparatus and uncorrected. HRMS were recorded on LTQ-FTUHRA spectrometer. PPh 3 AuCl 1 , PPh 3 AuNTf 2 2 , IPrAuNTf 2 2 were prepared according to the reported procedure Procedure for synthesis of Triazole-Gold complex 2a, 2b NaOH 1.0 eq., PPh 3 AuCl 1.0 eq. MeOH, rt,
Synthesis of chiral diphosphine ligands containing a spiro scaffold was described. The ruthenium complexes of these spiro ligands were found to have extremely high activities (S/C up to 100 000) and enantioselectivities (ee up to 99.5%) in the asymmetric hydrogenation of aromatic, heteroaromatic, and alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones.
The asymmetric arylation of N-tosylarylimines with arylboronic acids was realized by using rhodium/(S)-ShiP as catalyst. The reaction proceeded in aqueous toluene to give diarylmethylamines in good yields with up to 96% ee. [reaction: see text]
The synthesis and characterization of carbon-coated ferromagnetic nanoparticles that organize into 1-D assemblies of micrometer-sized ferromagnetic chains is described. A controlled aromatization and carbonization of glucose under hydrothermal reaction conditions enabled the preparation of carbonaceous surfactants that were used as shells for the coating of ferromagnetic Fe(3)O(4) nanospheres with a uniform size distribution. Under controlled experimental conditions, it was, for the first time, demonstrated that glucose could be employed as the carbon source in the preparation of continuous 1-D carbon nanoparticle chains with magnetic nanosphere inclusions. The functional groups on the carbon surface will facilitate the linkage of functional groups or catalytic species to the surface in future application. The salient feature of the reported method was the assembly of magnetic nanospheres under hydrothermal reaction conditions in the absence of external fields.
[reaction: see text] The enantioselective copper(II)-catalyzed Friedel-Crafts addition of indoles to N-sulfonyl aldimines was developed using chiral bisoxazoline as ligands, and high enantioselectivities (up to 96% ee) were achieved.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
