A 35-year-old female underwent endovascular coil embolization of an intracranial aneurysm via her right common femoral artery (CFA) using a 6F vascular sheath for access. The puncture site was closed using a StarClose vascular closure device (Abbott Vascular, Maidenhead, UK). However, the patient complained about increasing numbness of the right lower extremity after the procedure. Physical examination revealed pallor and pulselessness of the right lower limb. A contrast-enhanced computed tomography angiogram revealed occlusion of the vascular lumen at the level of vascular access site. The metallic clip was removed and the right CFA was successfully repaired with restoration of flow and symptom resolution.
