This carcinoma of cervix compromise less than 2% of all cervical carcinomas and it is known to be highly undifferentiated. It is associated with poor prognosis and characterized by high incidence of distant metastases. The 5-years overall survival rate for locally advanced ranges from 10-23%, and only 1-9% for advanced stage (distant metastases). An optimal therapeutic approach to this rare disease, especially of advanced stage, has not yet clearly defined. However, it has been generally accepted that multimodality treatment (surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy) yields better result. We report a case of 43 year old female with clinical stage IVB (lung metastases) of small cell carcinoma of the cervix.
