ZusammenfassungDer Einblick in die Zusammenhänge der Vorgänge bei einer Kontamination ist notwendige Voraussetzung für eine zweckmäßige Dekontamination. Die Aufnahme von anorganischen Ionen in die menschliche Hornschicht wurde mit wäßrigen Radionuklid-Lösungen untersucht. Etwa 1 μl Lösung dringt pro cm2 Hautfläche innerhalb von etwa 30 Min. Benetzungszeit in die Kapillarräume der Hornschicht unter der benetzungsfördernden Wirkung der Talgdrüsenlipide. Die Adsorption ist besonders hoch bei mehrwertigen Kationen. Sie ist vom pH und vom Ladungszustand des Ions abhängig. Der strukturelle Aufbau der Hornschicht bewirkt für alle Stoffe in wäßriger Lösung einen nahezu exponentiellen Abfall der Konzentration mit der Eindringungstiefe (etwa 2 Zehnerpotenzen bei 1 mg Keratin pro cm2 Hautfläche). In dieser Eigenschaft der Hornschicht liegt der Grund für ihre außerordentlich wirkungsvolle Behinderung des Stoffdurchgangs. Aus den Resultaten lassen sich Regeln für die Dekontamination der Haut ableiten.
