Vencendo os desafios do crescimento: o método "aprender a crescer" para pequenas e médias empresas brasileiras Na Europa e na América Latina, as Pequenas e Médias Empresas (PMEs) são a fonte de criação de postos de trabalho e desenvolvimento, atuando em economias cada vez mais turbulentas e baseadas em conhecimento. Para manter a sua competitividade, as PMEs precisam superar os desafios do crescimento existentes em mercados cada vez mais competitivos. Assim, elas precisam desenvolver "capacidades dinâmicas", integrando o seu novo conhecimento, tecnologia e competências para alcançar um crescimento sustentável e qualitativo. Com base em uma identificação e análise de desafios de crescimento no Brasil, este texto apresenta a metodologia "Aprender a Crescer", que foi aplicado com sucesso em PMEs alemãs e está sendo transferido para o Brasil. Os primeiros resultados da sua aplicação no estado de Santa Catarina são aqui relatados. O presente trabalho faz parte de um projeto de pesquisa em andamento financiado pela União Europeia, chamado Sustainable competitiveness of SMEs in turbulent economic and social environments e desenvolvido pelo Programa de Engenharia e Gestão do Conhecimento (EGC), da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), do Brasil; pela Universidad Nacional de Rosário, da Argentina; pela Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, da Espanha e pela Wiesbaden Business School, da Alemanha. Alemanha.O Brasil, neste início da segunda década do novo milênio, vem experimentando um contínuo e interessante crescimento de seu Produto Interno Bruto (PIB) anual: de 7,5%, em 2010, a aproximadamente 4%, na atualidade. Nesse período, as 250 PMEs que mais cresceram, elevaram seus faturamentos em cerca de 40% ao ano (DELOITTE, 2011).De 2002 a 2010, a taxa de desemprego no Brasil caiu sistematicamente de 10,5% para 5,3%, grande parte Mesmo com limitados recursos, de toda ordem, essas PMEs souberam, principalmente, garantir a rentabilidade de seus negócios, adaptar a sua estrutura operacional e orgânica, desenvolver produtos e serviços de valor percebível, suportar financeiramente suas operações e projetos, adotar sistemas integrados e estratégicos de gestão, atrair, investir e reter talentos, gerir o conhecimento, promover a inovação e, ainda, alcançar custos e preços competitivos, fortalecendo as suas posições de mercado.
