A pesquisa analisou as principais questões acerca do gerenciamento dos resíduos sólidos no município de Conceição do Araguaia, e verificou os problemas relacionados à ausência da coleta seletiva. Visando apresentar à comunidade araguaiana os devidos cuidados que devem ocorrer no manuseio e despejo dos resíduos sólidos, buscou-se seguir os protocolos previstos na Política Nacional de Resíduos Sólidos, Lei 12.305/2010. O desenvolvimento do projeto foi realizado em três etapas. Na Etapa I, foi realizado o levantamento bibliográfico das principais diretrizes e informativos científicos que abordam a temática dos resíduos sólidos no meio ambiente; posteriormente, foram coletadas informações por meio de questionário virtual. Os dados selecionados da amostra expõem dúvidas que foram apresentadas por indivíduos que se dispuseram a responder o questionário, montando as concepções ambientais de parte da comunidade do município. O projeto apresentou percentual positivo de 85,1% de pessoas que têm conhecimento do que seja coleta seletiva, entretanto relata apenas 26,7% como percentual referente aos indivíduos que realizam a separação dos resíduos sólidos em suas residências. Ao fazer comparativo entre o gerenciamento do município, juntamente com as ações da população, a pesquisa concluiu descaso de ambas as partes em relação ao gerenciamento dos resíduos sólidos. Portanto, por meio dessas informações foram elaborados cartazes e panfletos para divulgação em redes sociais e ambientes públicos, buscando sensibilizar a comunidade e expor os deveres dos governantes e da população em geral.
