Los grupos de apoyo mutuo son una de las acciones colectivas más presentes en el movimiento de salud mental en primera persona o movimiento loco. Entre sus precursores se han destacado, principalmente, distintas propuestas de movimientos sociales y de perspectivas comunitarias y colectivas en salud. En este artículo realizamos un recorrido histórico señalando, como antecedentes, diferentes acciones del movimiento de liberación de las mujeres y el movimiento de salud de las mujeres. A partir de dicho recorrido, realizamos un análisis crítico considerando tres ejes para comprender la emergencia de acciones colectivas en salud mental: la experiencia personal en relación con lo sociopolítico; la construcción de sujetos políticos y de conocimiento; y las relaciones de poder en la gestión de la locura y el malestar psíquico. Mostramos cómo los grupos de apoyo mutuo, en el contexto del movimiento loco, dan continuidad a las trayectorias de gestión colectiva y feminista de la salud, y se posicionan como herramientas para la creación de procesos políticos en distintos contextos socioculturales.
El objetivo de este artículo es identificar y describir discursos de politización feminista del malestar en la sección "Salud mental" del archivo histórico de fem (revista pionera en la prensa feminista latinoamericana, particularmente en México), en el marco de las movilizaciones internacionales por la liberación de las mujeres. Para esto se realiza una selección de artículos del archivo histórico de fem, seguida de un análisis temático y una lectura teórica desde los trabajos de: Carol Hanisch (1970), en el contexto de la reivindicación de “lo personal es político”; Mabel Burin (1990), a partir del modelo tensional-conflictivo en la comprensión del malestar de las mujeres; y bell hooks (1997) en la crítica a personalización de lo político en las derivas del movimiento feminista. Se aborda, a partir de estas articulaciones, la relación entre el malestar, lo personal y lo político en el movimiento feminista. Los resultados muestran distintas formas de nombrar la experiencia personal de malestar, así como algunas de las principales críticas y narrativas políticas difundidas en fem como alternativas feministas para su comprensión y abordaje. El estudio recupera el conocimiento producido desde la prensa y la divulgación feminista latinoamericana sobre la salud mental de las mujeres, así como aporta una mirada histórica sobre el potencial transformador del feminismo en términos personales y políticos.
En un proyecto de descolonización del género plural y de largo alcance dentro de los feminismos, este libro es una conversación entre América del Sur (Abya Yala) y el sur de Europa (territorio español) que busca contribuir, en un contexto revuelto, al continuo camino de reconstrucción de la resistencia y política feministas frente a una matriz colonial-moderna gobernada para ser “sana, competente y feliz”. Aquí, esta matriz se vincula con la regulación y fabricación de alterizaciones y minorizaciones naturalizadas —sometidas a violencias estructurales— a partir de un ideal blanco de género, nación y raza. Género y poder: exploraciones situadas en el sistema colonial-moderno es un ejercicio parcial y plural, en términos de lugares de enunciación, que abre el diálogo y presenta fragmentos de insurrección de nuevas prácticas feministas de vulnerabilidad y resistencia, de transformación subjetiva y social y de agenciamientos y libertad.
El objetivo de este estudio es describir, a partir de una revisión bibliográfica, tres líneas temáticas desde perspectivas descoloniales sobre algunos debates entre el movimiento loco y los movimientos antirracistas. La primera línea aborda de manera crítica la reproducción del racismo en la definición histórica y hegemónica de la “salud mental” y la “enfermedad mental”. La segunda línea analiza la invisibilización de lógicas racistas y colonial/modernas dentro del propio movimiento loco, en los procesos de construcción de identidades y sujetos de referencia. La tercera presenta debates sobre el uso del término “descolonización” dentro del mismo movimiento. La conclusión del análisis es que, debido a la distancia histórica que ha marcado la articulación entre ambos movimientos, es necesario repensar las posibilidades, identidades y marcos teóricos de resistencias comunes.
En tanto discurso y práctica, el concepto de trastorno mental tiene una trayectoria histórica construida desde las experiencias concretas de los cuerpos. Se presenta una reflexión teórica e historiográfica de la histeria, relacionándola con la construcción social del cuerpo en discursos que van desde la filosofía clásica hasta la psicopatología contemporánea. La propuesta es generar posibilidades de lectura crítica de los textos que construyen cuerpos como mentalmente enfermos. Se considera la evolución clínica de la histeria y de los trastornos mentales como encarnada y construida desde nodos tecnocientíficos de poder-saber propios de la psicopatología.
