This paper's main goal was to analyze coping strategies used as a way to deal with demands in hemodialysis treatment, as well as evaluate patients' quality of life. The participants were 40 people in hemodialysis treatment. The instruments included were the Quality of Life Questionnaire (Portuguese version -SF 36) and the Ways of Coping Questionnaire (Portuguese version -EMEP). Results show relevant correlations between emotional, social, and physical aspects related to the general health state, mental health and emotion-focused coping.
