The objective of this study was to evaluate changes in the bacterial community in sugarcane silage, in distinct soil types along the storage period. We depicted the bacterial community associated with sugarcane, before and after ensiling, through a massive sequencing of the gene 16S rRNA using MiSeq platform. The ensilage process shifted the composition of the bacterial community from the heterofermentative lactic acid bacteria Leuconostoc to bacteria belonging to the genera Acinetobacter, Ralstonia and Novosphingobium. However, this shift did not convey statically significant differences in alfa diversity metrics. In addition, similarity percentage analysis showed that the bacterial Operational Taxonomic Units that were primarily responsible for the observed differences were Leuconostoc, Pseudomonas, Acinetobacter, Ralstonia, Fructobacillus, Novosphingobium, Lactobacillus, Burkholderia and Clostridium sensu stricto 1. The storage period was the most important factor responsible for changes in the bacterial community of silages. Results confirmed that the type of soil did not influence the dissimilarity found among samples.
Termos para indexação: Acúmulo de massa seca, forragem, população de plantas, Saccharum spp. ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to identify the effect of 0.90 m and 1.30 m row spacing and one or two periods of harvesting on the agronomical characteristics and forage yield of sugarcane cultivar RB72454. The trial was performed in three farms located in Santo Antônio da Platina -PR, from November 2004 to January 2006. Treatments were composed by combination of 0.90 m and 1.30 m row spacing and number of harvesting, being two periods of harvesting (240 days of plant-cane and 180 days of regrowth), or one harvesting (420 days of plant-cane). A randomized blocks design was used, with five replicates per treatment. The yield forage varied between 142.49 t-ha -1 and 225.70 t-ha -1 and was due to row spacing. The period of harvesting affected (P<0.05) the yield and the treatment of one cut was 21.41% more productive than two harvests. The stubbles losses in simulated mechanical harvesting represented, on average, 17.41% and 6.83% of the total yield for two and one harvesting, respectively.
Palavras-chave: colheita manual, colheita mecânica, perdas de colheita, rebaixamento Losses in sugarcane submitted to different harvesting methodsABSTRACT -The effects of harvesting methods were evaluated on losses and damage in sugarcane after harvesting. The IAC86-2480 cultivar was evaluated, in its third cut, in November, 2006. Three herbage harvesting methods were evaluated: manual cutting, mechanical cutting using a harvester and mechanical followed by manual cutting. After harvesting, the material was weighed and separated into fractions of stalks, green leaves and straw. The damage under sugarcane ratoons was evaluated by counting of the number of damaged stalks, uprooted stalks and whole plants left on the central lines of the plot. Treatments were assigned to experimental units (136.5 m 2 ) according to a complete randomized block design, with six replications. The harvested yield and total biomass available were 80.7 t/ha and 90.3 t, respectively (average data). The total losses were higher for the mechanical followed by manual cutting as herbage harvesting method, representing 18.5% of the total harvested biomass. However, when compar...
