In Colombia, the use of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) is lacking because there are UNIVERSIDAD MILITAR NUEVA GRANADA -CIENCIA E INGENIERÍA NEOGRANADINA 118Volúmen 23 -1 Lina P. Gallo-Arciniegas, Giovanni González Peñuela, Julián Carrillo León not enough experimental evidence and regulatory requirements on that subject in the country. This paper shows the results of an experimental and analytical researchon behavior of SFRC made of ZP-306 fibers, subjected to compressive stresses. The study involves the review and discussion of models available in the literature, as well as anexperimental program that included the test of 48 specimens. From a regression analysis of the measured data, equations are proposed to estimate the main mechanical properties of the SFRC, such as compressive strength, modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio. The equations correlate the mechanical properties with the main characteristics of steel fibers, such as content and aspect ratio.
ABSTRACT:In this paper, the results of an analytical and computational investigation are presented, where a reliable methodology for evaluating the seismic demand out the plane, in the constructions of frames with infills of nonreinforced masonry are proposed. With this methodology the acceleration records in different heights from the building are obtained. The equations which are proposed were obtained considering the results by methodologies established at world-wide level, experimental results of a building constructed in Los Angeles city, which was completely instrumented during the Northrigde earthquake -1994; and analytical models of typical buildings analyzed by the finite elements method -FEM. Finally, acceleration curves with respect to the height (with the proposed methodology) of typical buildings of frames with infills of nonreinforced masonry constructed in the different zones established in the seismic areas from Bogotá city are presented.
