O Programa de Educação Ambiental Campo Limpo apoia instituições de ensino com conteúdos curriculares relacionados ao meio ambiente, com o objetivo de conscientizar professores e alunos do 4º e 5º anos do Ensino Fundamental para a responsabilidade compartilhada na gestão sustentável de embalagens vazias e resíduos sólidos, e estimular o protagonismo dos alunos em práticas de consumo consciente para a não geração de resíduos sólidos, bem como para a disposição final adequada de rejeitos. A metodologia utilizada é a distribuição anual de kits de educação ambiental a escolas públicas e privadas. Os kits compreendem o caderno do professor, pôsteres temáticos e jogo colaborativo. No Rio de Janeiro, em 2019, foram 12 escolas participantes, compreendendo os municípios de Campos dos Goytacazes, Cardoso Moreira, São João da Barra e São José de Ubá. Foram ministradas palestras para a formação da consciência ambiental dos alunos, abordando o desafio dos resíduos sólidos a partir da noção de “responsabilidade compartilhada”. Ao final do ciclo de palestras, os alunos participaram do concurso de desenho (4º ano) e redação (5º ano), trabalhando o tema: “Como posso fazer a minha parte na gestão de resíduos”, onde os melhores foram premiados.
