Introdução: A saúde se constitui um direito de todos e dever do estado, e para ser assegurado esse direito o SUS foi criado, onde a UBS se constitui uma porta de entrada aos serviços de saúde. Nesse contexto insere-se o homem, que por diversos motivos é negligente em relação a saúde, ação essa que aumenta os dados de mortalidade masculina. Assim o Ministério da Saúde lançou a Política Nacional de Atenção Integral a Saúde do Homem, que tem como objetivo promover ao sexo masculino melhores condições de saúde. Metodologia: O presente estudo é uma revisão de literatura, cujo objetivo foi analisar as publicações cientificas de 2011-2022 acerca dos avanços e os desafios enfrentados em relação a saúde do Homem na Atenção Básica. O levantamento dos dados se deu pela análise das bases de dados: BDNEF, LILACS, e SCIELO, aplicando os descritores: avanços, desafios, saúde do homem e enfermagem. Resultados e Discussões: Ressalta-se nos artigos a discrepância em relação aos avanços obtidos, que são poucos, e desafios enfrentados que aparecem de diversas formas, dessa maneira os enfermeiros desenvolvem diversas estratégias para resgate da população masculina, outra estratégia lançada pelo MS é a PNAISH, que tenta se desenvolver no precário sistema de saúde que está inserido. Conclusão: Conclui-se por meios dos artigos selecionados e analisados, que a saúde do homem necessita de maiores investimentos de políticas públicas e ações que sejam voltadas aos homens em sua totalidade, respeitando suas individualidades e particularidades, só assim poderemos ter mudanças nos quadros negativos e melhores qualidades de vida para o sexo masculino.
Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar o perfil epidemiológico da Hanseníase no estado do Maranhão. Estudo transversal de caráter retrospectivo dos casos de hanseníase nos anos de 2018 a 2020 no estado do Maranhão, região nordeste do Brasil. Os dados foram obtidos por meio de consultas à base de dados do Sistema de Informações de Agravos de Notificação (SINAN), disponibilizados no Departamento de Informática do Sistema Único de Saúde (DATASUS). As variáveis utilizadas no estudo foram: macrorregiões de saúde, sexo, escolaridade e forma clínica. Entre os anos 2018 a 2020, de acordo com o DATASUS, foram notificados 10.776 casos de hanseníase no Maranhão, com média de 3592 casos/ano. No ano de 2018 foram notificados 4.195 casos em contraposição ao ano de 2020 com 2.316 casos, sendo o menor número de casos nos últimos 3 anos. No presente estudo foi observado que a hanseníase foi predominante no sexo masculino, na macrorregião Norte, nas pessoas da raça parda, em pessoas com baixo grau de escolaridade e a forma clínica mais comum foi a dimorfa. As condições sociais e vulnerabilidade associam a hanseníase a situações precárias de higiene e baixo nível econômico, levando a dificuldade de acesso à saúde. Espera-se, portanto, que os órgãos estaduais e municipais de saúde, promovam ao acesso a informações de saúde para população afetada, ações que promovam melhora dos indicadores de controle da doença no Maranhão, visando aperfeiçoar os aspectos relacionados à educação e saúde, tendo maior atenção ao público masculino, para que o tratamento da doença ocorra de forma eficiente.

Introdução: A anemia falciforme - AF é uma alteração genética, pois acontece a mutação da hemoglobina, designada como hemoglobina S ou HbS. Objetivo: conhecer a concepção do cuidador familiar do portador da AF, sobre a doença e seu tratamento no município de Colinas. Metodologia: Trata-se de um estudo na forma descritiva com abordagem qualitativa, realizado no município de Colinas - MA, no período de maio a junho de 2019. Onde utilizou-se como instrumento de coleta de dados, questionários semiestruturados. Resultados e Discussão: Foram entrevistadas oito (8) responsáveis pelos portadores de anemia falciforme, dos oito (8), seis (6) é a mãe do portador, um (1) é a avó e um (1) é a bisavó da criança, idade de 25 a 64 anos. Ao questionar sobre a etnia 75% se consideraram pardos, 12,5% negros e 12,5% brancos; sobre a renda familiar 12,5% declararam receber dois salários mínimos, 62,5% vivem com um salário mínimo e 25% vivem com menos de um salário mínimo; ao indagar sobre a escolaridade 50% não concluíram o ensino fundamental, 25% têm ensino médio incompleto e 25% concluíram ensino médio; sobre a quantidade de filhos 37,5% tem três (3) filhos, 37,5% possuem dois (2) filhos e 25% apenas um (1) filho. Conclusão: No presente estudo foi analisado que o município não fornece todos os núcleos que integra o tratamento da siclemia.
