Este artículo tiene por objetivo identificar y analizar comprensión que el grupo de embajadores de la red Couchsurfing Brasil presenta sobre turismo y sobre motivaciones de los turistas en el contexto de la red. Cabe destacar que embajadores son los usuarios que mejor expresan los valores de la propia red, la cual defiende un mundo mejor al compartir experiencias, historias y hasta la casa. En este sentido, el Couchsurfing es uno de los íconos de la llamada economía compartida. En la metodología, las declaraciones de los embajadores, recogidas vía cuestionario Google, son fueron analizadas a partir de la hermenéutica y de la línea enunciativa bakhtiniana. Los resultados, con relación al entendimiento de los embajadores sobre el turismo en la red, indican que esos usuarios distinguen de forma positiva el turismo que es proporcionado por la red (la idea de experiencia queda marcada), en oposición al turismo de masa, que es hecho por aquellos que no son usuarios de la plataforma. Ya, con relación a los entrevistados, las motivaciones manifiestan tristeza al notar que muchos están recurriendo a la red apenas como alternativa para hospedaje gratuito.
