Pyrolyse. 15 g der rohen Lactonsawe VIII wurden in einem Vigreuz-Kolben am Wasserstrehlvakuum erwarmt. Bei 170° Olbadtemperatur begann heftiges Sieden. Nach 5 Std. waren 8,46 g 6-Methylen-capronshre (I) iiberdestilliert. Das Produkt wurde noch zweimal destilliert und wies dann folgende Daten auf: Sdp. 114-115O; d; O = 0,954.4; n g = 1,4439; M, ber. fur C,H120, 11 3539; gef. 35,67l). 3,882 mg Subst. gaben 9,359 mg CO, und 3,307 mg H,O C,H,,O, Ber. C 65,59 H 9,44% Gef. C 65,79 H 9,53 1R.-Spektrum identisch mit demjenigen der Saure von Eschenmoser & Frey. Die Analysen wurden in unserer mikroanalytischen Abteilung (Leitung Herr W. kfanser) ausgefiihrt. Die Aufnahme der 1R.-Spektren besorgte Herr A . Hiibscher, die Interpretation Herr Prof. H. H. A. 3,7-Dimethyl-octadien-(2,7)-saure-(l) (Limonenform der Geraniumsiiure) wurde ausgehend von 5-Methyl-hexen-(5)-siiure-(l) iiber 6-Methyl-hepten-(6)-on-(2) nach der Acetyleniithermethode hergestellt.B. Die 3,7-Dimethyl-octadien-(2,7)-saure-(l) lieferte bei der Cyclisation mit Ameisensaure-Schwefelsiiureebenso wie die gewohnliche Geraniumsiiurea-Cyclogeraniumsiiure.C. 5-Methyl-hexen-( 5)-sLure-(l) ( 6-Methylen-capronsiiure) wurde durch Pyrolyse einer Lactonsiiure hergestellt, die ihrerseits aus y-Acetyl-buttersiiureester leicht zuganglich ist.Organisch-chemisches Laboratorium der Eidg. Schinx2) hatten vor zwei Jahren beobachtet, dass eine synthetisch hergestellte 7-Methyl-octadien-(2,6)-siiure-(l) (,,Apegeraniumsaure") (I) bei der Cyclisation mit Ameisensaure-Schwefelsaure in einheitlich verlaufender Reaktion eine I, l-Dimethyl-cyclohexanol-(3)-carbons5ure-(2) (11) vom Smp. 161° 3, liefert.
