Objective: Present a care for routine for children who were submitted to a cardiac surgery. Source of data: Realized a bibliographic revision through searching sites (Medscape, MD Consult, PubMed), analyzing the suggested conducts by various services out of Brazil and comparing with the routine of the Hospital Infantil Pequeno Príncipe, in Curitiba, where approximately eight thousand cardiac surgeries were realized in children, from 1977 to April 2003. Summary of the findings: The referred service is a reference in Paraná State and neighbor states. The evolution of diagnosis conditions, the prepare of the clinic and surgical team, a better equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with a more advanced monitoring, ICU team with trained people in all areas to do cardiac surgery postoperative, adequate hospital structure offering advanced care for in all pediatrics correlate specialties, make the result of surgical interventions realized in children with congenital and acquired heart diseases especially in newborn and babies with complex heart diseases, to present a sensitive improvement when compared with past years. Conclusions: Children with heart diseases, specially the complex ones, must be sent to a centre of reference place, where there are conditions to a global care for before, during and after the surgery.
Background Vertical jumps can be used to assess neuromuscular status in sports performance. This is particularly important in Cerebral Palsy Football (CP Football) because players are exposed to high injury risk, but it may be complicated because the gold standard for assessing jump performance is scarce in field evaluation. Thus, field techniques, such as mobile apps, have been proposed as an alternative method for solving this problem. Objective This study aims to evaluate the reliability of the measures of the MyJump2 app to assess vertical jump performance in professional CP Football. Methods We assessed 40 male CP Football athletes (age 28.1 [SD 1.4] years, weight 72.5 [SD 6.2] kg, and height 176 [SD 4.2] cm) through the countermovement jump (CMJ) and squat jump (SJ) using a contact mat. At the same time, we assessed the athletes using the MyJump2 app. Results There were no significant differences between the instruments in SJ height ( P =.12) and flight time ( P =.15). Additionally, there were no significant differences between the instruments for CMJ in jump height ( P =.16) and flight time ( P =.13). In addition, it was observed that there were significant and strong intraclass correlations in all SJ variables varying from 0.86 to 0.89 (both P <.001), which was classified as “almost perfect.” Similar results were observed in all variables from the CMJ, varying from 0.92 to 0.96 (both P ≤.001). Conclusions We conclude that the MyJump2 app presents high validity and reliability for measuring jump height and flight time of the SJ and CMJ in CP Football athletes.
El fútbol siete es practicado por personas con parálisis cerebral. Los participantes se dividen en cuatro clases funcionales (FT5, FT6, FT7, y FT8). El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar y valorar las características somatotípicas y de composición corporal de futbolistas participantes en el 15º Campeonato Brasileiro de Fútbol siete. Las variables antropométricas de masa corporal, estatura, espesor de pliegues cutáneos, circunferencias y diámetros óseos fueron recolectados en 61 futbolistas de sexo masculino. Las medidas recogidas proporcionaron información sobre el índice de masa corporal (IMC), porcentaje de grasa corporal (% GC) y somatotipo. La presentación de los datos fue realizada con base en estadística descriptiva, y la prueba de Kruskal-Wallis fue utilizada con el objetivo de determinar y valorar la diferencia entre las diversas clases funcionales. El análisis de las variables antropométricas y de la composición corporal permite afirmar que no existen diferencias entre las clases funcionales y el perfil de estos futbolistas expresados por los valores medios de IMC (22,78 kg / m2 + 2,24) y % GC de (10,48% + 4,41). Las características somatotipológicas indican que los participantes del estudio, divididos en cuatro clases funcionales, obtuvieron valores del componente de mesomorfia predominante en relación a los demás componentes. En ese sentido, es posible concluir determinaciones en relación a los patrones y perfiles de tamaño, forma y estructura corporal de deportistas masculinos de fútbol siete paralímpico.Abstract. Football seven is played by people who have cerebral palsy. Participants are divided into four functional classes. The objective of this study was to verify somatotype and body composition characteristics of athletes participating in the 15th Brazilian Football-seven Championship. Anthropometric variables of body mass, height, thickness of skinfolds, and bone circumferences and diameters were collected in 61 male footballers. Measures collected provided information on body mass index (BMI), percentage of body fat (% BF), and somatotype. Data presentation was based on descriptive statistics, and the Kruskal-Wallis test was used to verify the difference between the different functional classes. Data analysis on anthropometric variables and body composition showed no differences between the functional classes regarding athletes’profile expressed by mean BMI values (22.78 Kg / m2 + 2.24) and % BF (10.48% + 4.41). With respect to the somatotypological characteristics, results indicated that values of the mesomorphic component were predominant compared to the other components in all participants from our study, divided in four functional classes. In that sense, we may draw determinations regarding size, shape, and body structure patterns and profiles of male footballers of Paralympic football.
