A mamoplastia de aumento é, atualmente, a cirurgia estética mais realizada no mundo. Esse estudo possui como objetivo avaliar os reais impactos que estas substâncias podem ter no organismo humano. Assim como, avaliar a existência de efeitos adversos com o uso a curto e longo prazo, sejam eles complicações pequenas ou doeças que se desenvolvem após essa cirurgia. As bases de dados utilizadas foram o National Library of Medicine, Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde e Directory of Open Access Journals com os descritores: “autoimmune syndrome”, “breast implant” e “silicone” utilizando o operador booleano “and”. Os filtro de pesquisa aplicados foram clinical trial, journal article, artigos publicados no intervalo de 2011 a 2021, artigos de livre acesso, artigos publicados em inglês, português e espanhol. Nos resultados dos trabalhos selecionados foram avaliados os efeitos colaterais presentes em pacientes após a colocação de implantes mamários apresentando síndrome autoimune inflamatória induzida por adjuvantes, entre outros sintomas. Os implantes mamários sempre geraram estudos a respeito do seu efeito no organismos dos pacientes, dentre esses efeitos, a Síndrome de ASIA é uma complicação aos que se submetem a essa cirugia, porém necessita de mais estudos epidemiológicos para sua validação no meio científico.
