SUGARCANE TRANSPORTATION PLANNING FROM A GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS) ABSTRACT: Through the Geographic Information System (GIS), routes for sugarcane transport were elaborated, in view of variable analysis from two scenarios, the shortest path and the one that offers the best operational performance. In the criteria comparison, the results did not differ significantly by the student t test (σ <0.05). The data supported the assessment of the repair and maintenance cost (CRM) in relation to service life and mileage. It was found that the discrepancies between costs become significant as the fourth harvest, reaching a difference of R$ 52,712.23. Thus, in a view of plant logistics, it was inferred that operational performance criterion is ideal to company fleet, while the shortest route is the best option for paying outsourced service. Keywords: sugarcane, logistic, unpaved roads.
