O artigo apresenta as premissas teóricas e um breve relato do(a) estudante bolsista do projeto de pesquisa “Em defesa da História: o uso de novas tecnologias digitais de informação para produzir, ensinar e divulgar conhecimento histórico”, realizado entre março e novembro de 2021, no Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia de São Paulo, campus Capivari. A pesquisa abordou debates sobre currículo de história, políticas do esquecimento, cultura digital e o ensino de história e cultura afro-brasileira e africana. Com foco na identificação de um processo de apagamento e exclusão de personagens negros da história do Brasil, particularmente mulheres negras, o objetivo central foi refletir sobre o potencial impacto dos recursos digitais no ambiente escolar, criando formas de interação e debate e um novo sentido para o passado, com a finalidade de promover uma educação antirracista.
