Mean platelet volume (MPV) is a hematological index that is routinely measured in clinical settings. Although many studies have been conducted to investigate the prognostic significance of MPV in acute coronary syndromes (ACS), the findings have been inconsistent. The goal of this study was to systematically review all current evidence on the association between admission MPV and clinical outcomes after ACS. PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and other databases were searched. The primary endpoints were major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) and mortality. We applied a Knapp and Hartung adjustment, prediction interval calculations and permutation tests during pairwise meta-analyses. A one-stage dose–response meta-analysis was also conducted. The meta-analysis consisted of 41 studies with 33443 participants. Mean platelet volume, as a continuous variable, was associated with the risk of long-term mortality (hazard ratio 1.33, 95% CI 1.19–1.48). After conducting permutation tests and calculation of prediction intervals, this association remained significant. The results for MACE were nonsignificant. Linear models were the best fitted models during dose–response meta-analyses, trends for nonlinearity were significant for long-term endpoints. Admission MPV was associated with long-term mortality in ACS patients, with nonlinear associations between MPV levels and long-term clinical outcomes.
The article provides a correlation between nutrition and the onset of gastritis at the age of 18-21 years. Since people do not have a standard of adhered to food, when changing lifestyle and social status, changes in eating behavior occur, often not in favor of the body. This study will show qualitative and quantitative data on cases of gastritis among students aged 18-21, depending on the availability of reduced-price meals in canteens of higher educational institutions. Justifies the rationality of the introduction of reduced-price meals for students at the state level. For this, the analysis was carried out on the basis of a questionnaire, which was taken mainly by people of the age category from 18 to 21 years old. The number of respondents was 256, who answered 10 main questions. The questions covered the image of nutrition before entering the university, the presence / absence of complaints during the learning process, dynamic observation by a specialist and opinions on the implementation of social packages. As a solution to the problem on the basis of the best education systems of the countries of the world, consider the option of introducing a "social package" by universities as it is done abroad. Through partnership with various catering establishments in Almaty for the implementation of a "package" system project. This card/talon will enable the student to choose a place from the list of institutions that is located by his location and purchase food at prices lower than usual.
A coronavirus disease COVID-19 became a serious medical and social concern worldwide. The patients with chronic kidney diseases (CKD) are under a particular risk due to the course of the underlying disease and comorbidities they have. Despite the achievement of some success in the treatment of patients with COVID-19, special clinical and organizational approaches are to be developed in the threatening the patients with CKD. The goal of our study was to research the risk factors for mortality rate from COVID-19 of patients who have diagnosed CKD. The average age was 68 and the 59% of patients are male. The results of this study showed that the patients with low GFR are prone to more severe COVID-19 and higher mortality rates compared to the general population. However, according to our research severe glomerular filtration rate decrease and end-stage of CKD are not associated with more extensive lung involvement.
