O objetivo deste estudo é investigar a morfologia dos sistemas de canais radiculares de pré-molares maxilares através de tomografias computadorizadas de feixe cônico. A revisão de literatura foi realizada através de um levantamento bibliográfico de estudos publicados nos últimos anos nas bases de dados da PubMed/Medline, Scopus, LILACS e SciELO. Os resultados mostram que as tomografias computadorizadas de feixe cônico permitem a visualização de estruturas tridimensionais, diminuindo a sobreposição de imagens e permitindo uma melhor identificação das estruturas de canais de maior complexidade e variabilidade, como os pré-molares. Os primeiros pré-molares superiores apresentaram de uma a duas raízes, com prevalência dos sistemas de canais radiculares do tipo IV e II. Os segundos pré-molares superiores também variaram em número de raízes entre unirradiculares e birradiculares, e apresentaram maior prevalência de canais do tipo I, II e IV. É possível concluir que pré-molares são dentes que apresentam alta variabilidade radicular e as tomografias computadorizadas de feixe cônico são um bom instrumento para auxiliar o estudo dessas variações morfológicas, diminuindo a possibilidade de erros em tratamentos endodônticos.
