Health and safety at work have their legal basis in international and Polish law – source of law currently valid in Poland. For efficiently functioning system of health and safety at work it is necessary to build appropriate institutional environment. The purpose of the article is to analyse the institutional system of health and safety at work in Poland based on source of law currently valid in Poland and forming remarks de lege lata and de lege ferenda in this scope.
The article explains the essence and determinants of competitiveness in the development of small and medium enterprises. It emphasises the importance of changes which accelerate economic growth based on the plan of action laid out in the Lisbon Strategy. It focuses on creating the legal-institutional and finance circumstances influencing the competitiveness potential of small and medium enterprises in Poland. Particular attention is devoted to how project realisation strengthens the competitive position of small and medium enterprises. Research was carried out at 30 small and medium enterprises. The first stage identified the types of projects realised. Based on a defined scoreboard of project competitiveness, the second analysed advantages gained in the fields of strategy, finance and social life thanks to projects realised by firms. The projects, as unique measures, contribute to the growth of small and medium firms and help them maintain their competitive position.
Identification and evaluation of risk in the production project in the preliminary phase of its realization has important influence on manager’s decision about the project continuation, the reduction of project realization or the stop of project realization. The method of the quantitative ex-ante risk estimation in the project is proposed in the paper. The aim of the paper is to blow the whistle on importance of the ex-ante identification and estimation of the risk in the production project, as the factor which has positive influence on the project realization and implementation. In the article the following thesis is proposed: the ex-ante identification and estimation of risk in the project contributes to its efficient realization and increase possibility of obtaining the originally defined results.
The principle of sustainable development is one of the key principle of the European Union law. The principle of sustainable development has its source in the idea of sustainable growth, which is interdisciplinary in the nature and is based on the three basic aspects: economical, social and ecological. The aim of the paper is to analyze the European Union law from the point of view of the sustainable development principle and evaluation of the effectiveness of the principle in the European Union law.
Abstract. The European Union structural funds even out the chances of development of particular regions in the European Union. Entities applying for additional financing from structural funds for various actions implemented in a form of projects must meet specific criteria. For this reason, the quality of prepared and implemented projects is of key importance. This paper draws the attention to meeting the requirements of a project at a stage of its preparation and implementation, taking into account the formal, contents-oriented and technical criteria and application of methodology of management, for effective absorption of European Union structural funds.
